I worked at Driveline Retail Merchandising part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

work on your own even on resets if not too big

    Cons

overload schedule some months then nothing, go thru DM so you always feel you are starting over if you need guidance

    Advice to Management

bring back managers that actually worked with and knew merchandisers - get to know them- maybe upper senior management and above should come out to some of the harder areas for support and motivation

I worked at Driveline Retail Merchandising (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Some flexibility if you have your own territory. Worked with some wonderful store managers/store associates.

    Cons

No raises; often have no-shows on team projects, which leaves the lead responsible for getting it all done. Have read reviews about low # of hours; to me it was a relief to have 25-30 hrs. Often would have 50 hrs or more on my schedule (not including the aforementioned extra time required when other team members do not show up -you are compensated for that extra time, but you still have all of your other projects to complete). It also does not take into account the amount of time it takes to drive from project to project-yes, you do get some compensation for drivetime/mileage, but nothing close to the reality of traffic, etc. Tried to talk to other long time employees(more than 6 mo lol) about how to plow through-repeatedly the answer was to fudge the #s. If you walk in and the store has already done it-take pics and claim the full time. If they don't know where the materials are when you first walk in the door or associate is not able to help you within the first 5 min-walk out, as you won't be paid more than an attempt.(15 min-still need pics and to report project).

    Advice to Management

Put some time and money into the hiring process and training and retaining employees. Driveline has a bad reputation (at least in my area) for resets not to POG, incomplete resets, "visits" where no one in the dept has seen anyone in months (on accounts where weekly visits are mandated). Put some money into getting qualified staff and retaining them. It can't be cheap 1)to keep doing all the paperwork for new hires that last a month or less 2)to damage your reputation when you send out reps who do not know what they are doing and cause ill will in the client stores

    Advice to Management

should not lie about pay and use your employees

    Pros

pay was ok when I started The benefits are ok. You get paid time off. lol

    Cons

As a project manager you are salary (exempt). Except that I don't meet any of the governments requirements for those rules. My state labor department is pursuing the 10,000 in overtime I am owed. No review or raise in over 5 years. when you inquire you are told, if you don't like it quit.
No response to time off requests and then PTO disappears. (what's the point of paid time off if you cant use it). Illegal? your team members don't want to travel 10 hours for 4.25 hour and its your fault. No support from those above you. Per deim of 15 dollars a night. well below industry average. Most team members do not have cars or license's so on Sunday you spend hours picking them up. Minimal communication. Expect to work 225+ hours a month.
To many other cons to list
HR is a joke. Ask a question, and you are told they will get back to you. Don't hold your breathe waiting for an answer.
Stay away, you cannot be that desperate for a job!

    Advice to Management

    Follow the labor LAWS.
    Please lay me off,

I worked at Driveline Retail Merchandising full-time

    Pros

No pros. They expect you to work 7 days a week for substandard salary.

    Cons

I must say, this company has potential, if the had direction and leadership.... Which they don't. The leadership from the top down is pathetic. Micromanaged beyond the point of common cents. The CFO is basically the HR department and manages all aspects of the work & Is quite possibly one of the most unprofessional people I've ever met. Most midlevel managers are managed by fear and intimidation... No do not recommend anyone work for this company.

    Advice to Management

Train your people, set them up for success, and allow them to do the job that you hired them for.
