I worked at DuPont Pioneer full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Flexible company, great location and services in the building, mostly casual attire, good PTO package.

    Cons

Lots of contracting and outsourcing going on. Employees losing jobs so it isn't the stable work place it used to be.

I have been working at DuPont Pioneer full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Decent pay and benefit package. 401k is matched at 7% which also is nice. Lots of PTO. Sick time is monitored and you will be questioned after a few days!

    Cons

Upper management has no clue about the whole process and doesn't understand. Labor is always an issue and we still continue to work 12hr shifts.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the operators, they are the professionals.

I have been working at DuPont Pioneer full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Smart coworkers, interesting work, great 401k match and vacation benefits

    Cons

No career path or opportunity for advancement. Salary isn't tied to performance, more about time at the company and quarterly profits. Lots of anxiety due to ongoing job cuts over the last 3 years and upcoming merger.

    Advice to Management

Give ambitious employees hope that there might be a future with the company. Reward performance with career development, advancement, and salary.

    Pros

Individual managers are great, they work with you to and can be great mentors. I really enjoyed working there.

    Cons

The climate of the business has changed. Many people are just hanging on waiting for more layoffs. Its very disappointing compared to how the company used to be run.

    Advice to Management

Don't take employees for granted. We all work hard to keep the business running

I have been working at DuPont Pioneer full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

For most positions at Dupont Pioneer you will have a flexible schedule. You just need to clear it with your manager. Good Pto, average benefits, ability to move around.

    Cons

There are very few promotions. You must get a new job to advance. Upper management is a bit sketchy. They have not made the best business decisions lately for the company, customers or employees. Large shareholders are the primary focus.

    Advice to Management

Promote people with people skills and not just degrees.

I worked at DuPont Pioneer (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Pioneer has good products, good research and development, a bright future, and a slogan that they want to feed the world. They aso have good local leadership.

    Cons

Since DuPont took over control, it really hurt local leadership and employee morale. DuPont should never have bought Pioneer. It was so much better before DuPont began meddling in the seed business.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees more. Take care of your employees more.

    Pros

People, co workers care a great deal about each other and their work.
I work with individuals who will assist to their hearts content

    Cons

    Management needed serious re-wiring.
Management is capable of job functions, but the actual leading and motivation of personnel and morale is sorely lacking

    Advice to Management

Leading does not involve giving orders, leading involves isolating Key qualities in each employee and using those qualities to lift the team and company to great heights
