    Pros

Individual managers are great, they work with you to and can be great mentors. I really enjoyed working there.

    Cons

The climate of the business has changed. Many people are just hanging on waiting for more layoffs. Its very disappointing compared to how the company used to be run.

    Advice to Management

Don't take employees for granted. We all work hard to keep the business running

I worked at DuPont Pioneer full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

benefits, people, never a lack of things to do, no room for complacency, allowed to run my own projects

    Cons

Not a people centered culture, core values seem to matter at different levels depending upon who you are and how important the right people feel you are. My business location was run by managers not leaders. May be the right environment for some, but definitely not for me.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your people. Stop and think, some of the things you do, say and ask others to do for you do not follow the core values or the Safety, Quality then Productivity chain you established.

    Pros

Good pay. Good benefits. Mostly good people.

    Cons

    Gestapo-esque policy implementation.
Non-existent work schedule flexibility. For example your bank closes early you'll have to use vacation time to go there instead of just working an hour later another day or something of the sort.
Corporate hierarchy impetuously adhered to. Questioning the validity of existing processes is frowned upon.
    Too many pointless meetings.

    Advice to Management

Make it a point to train your supervisors to run the areas they are in charge of.
Don't make decisions based on emotion.
Don't condone disciplinary actions perpetrated against hourly employees based on misinterpretations due to the illiteracy of supervisors.

I have been working at DuPont Pioneer full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

For most positions at Dupont Pioneer you will have a flexible schedule. You just need to clear it with your manager. Good Pto, average benefits, ability to move around.

    Cons

There are very few promotions. You must get a new job to advance. Upper management is a bit sketchy. They have not made the best business decisions lately for the company, customers or employees. Large shareholders are the primary focus.

    Advice to Management

Promote people with people skills and not just degrees.

I have been working at DuPont Pioneer full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The company aspires to technical excellence and is willing to pay accordingly. Corporate culture is flexible and adaptive. The urge to help adjacent teams is strong.

    Cons

Due to its ag background, the company can stall talent development and career growth for entry-level positions. You must know what you need from your position and demand that your management meet your needs. There is no formal mentoring program in place.

I worked at DuPont Pioneer (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Pioneer has good products, good research and development, a bright future, and a slogan that they want to feed the world. They aso have good local leadership.

    Cons

Since DuPont took over control, it really hurt local leadership and employee morale. DuPont should never have bought Pioneer. It was so much better before DuPont began meddling in the seed business.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees more. Take care of your employees more.

I worked at DuPont Pioneer full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great set of employees to work with. At times there was not enough support for a new Lean Startup but all in all great company. 3 weeks vacation after 6 months at work.

    Cons

Long hours during the Harvest. Management seemed to turn over quite quickly. The overall direction and plan the company was going in seem to change quite often.
