I worked at DuPont full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great pay, benefits and safety culture....

    Cons

Last 10 years only the connected ones, servile attitude, risk avoiders, mediocre talents, have been eating it like termite from within and we witnessed the results.....collapsed like a deck of cards, mergers and acquisitions are hog wash, the bottom line is unfit leadership at every level and typical American way of discrimination.....so unless you are connected and some what "white American" avoid it especially if you are ambitious and want to change the age old wisdom....

    Advice to Management

DO NOT DISCRIMINATE SOME DAY YOU WILL BE CAUGHT

I worked at DuPont full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Pay, benefits and some of the relationships you build.

    Cons

    Everything else
Career opportunities are great if you "play the game ".
The culture is horrible for honest line managers desiring to make a positive contribution in a flawed system of biased office politics and a good old boys network thriving on favoritism and black balling.

    Advice to Management

Support First Line Management and do not believe every and anything hourly employees say about the First Lines.

    Pros

    Not much I can say.

    Cons

CIO is out of touch with the Business, which makes the money to pay the bills, including IT.

I have been working at DuPont full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good pay and benefits. Loyal people.

    Cons

Do not keep core values. Management allows hostile work environment. Loyalty means nothing. Bad leadership.

    Advice to Management

DuPont corporate needs to investigate the bad morale. Don't talk about core values if you are not going to stick to them.

    I worked at DuPont full-time

    Pros

The crews were wonderful on the production floors

    Cons

Company overpaid many employees. One was fired for violating ethics codes as he did not tell them about it was their reason. The guy really didn't know about it.

    Advice to Management

Get your payroll and HR in order and help protect your most valuable asset, your employees

    Pros

This use to be a good company to work for a few years ago.

    Cons

DuPont only cares about making money. No matter how hard you work or how much you do, in the end you are just a number.

I have been working at DuPont full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Very little pros left. Can't think of one. It all started when the activist investor Nelson Peltz started messing things up

    Cons

Horrible new corporate culture. Executive management turned the relationship of every employee to a transactional one. Employees are just numbers on a piece of paper. So sad.

    Pros

A good team, with the exclusion of management

    Cons

Lack of leadership from management and processes which are becoming redundant in the market. A very heavy reliance on the DuPont brand reputation which is no long as competitive as it use to be.

    Advice to Management

Change your ways and tighten the business processes

I worked at DuPont full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

DuPont is a staple in Delaware. Well known and respected company. Offers decent salaries and great benefits.

    Cons

Please understand this may not represent all departments in this organization, but in my department, things are a complete mess. The structure is not designed for success. Too many leaders and not enough workers. Poor communication and no thought of developing employees- unless you are part of the clique that deems you worthy. Of the few different options I had on the table before coming here- this was my choice and I'm thoroughly disappointed. Pay is great, but you will have no peace of mind and you're expected to work 15-20 hours a day. Work life balance is joke and company values are not valued at all.

    Advice to Management

Pay closer attention to your employees and what the needs are in your department. Leaders here are not trusted and a few of them are not even respected.

I worked at DuPont full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

I had the privilege of acquiring new skills during my employment.

    Cons

Since the merger of Dow/DuPont, many employees have lost their jobs. Very stressful year not knowing when you would get that tap on the shoulder and told you were no longer needed.

    Advice to Management

DuPont teaches respect for others. Management needs to relook at how they respect others.
