    Pros

Overall Its a fair company, respectful inviroment lots of young people are running the show here. and one thing I can say is that we waited too late to start replacing older workers and most of the skilled people are leaving, or retiring.

    Cons

I have no downsides about dupont. dupont need to stop taking away the employees benifits and make a better package deal to attrack new people to the company.

    Advice to Management

To listen more to the worker in the field thats doing the everyday tasks. and be consistant with your.

    - Management supports work/life balance for employees
    - Multiple career paths and unique work opportunities
    - Open communication from senior management on the status of the company
    - Involved in cutting edge research with biotechnology and alternative energy

    Cons

    - Recession has had a large impact on most of the company. Some product lines and sites have an uncertain future.
    - Previous senior management did not make the best decisions for the company. This appears to be turning around under Ellen's leadership, but time will tell.

    Pros

Great company to work for! It is nice to have the security that it offers as an engineer starting off a career.

    Cons

The older workforce is retiring, but the positions are not being back-filled, so more work is being piled on an already overwhelmed group of employees.

    Advice to Management

You must do more to keep and attract young talent.

    Pros

A wide array of projects in all areas of science are potentially available. Family friendly working environment.

    Cons

Starting pay is not very high, and it never gets better than average throughout the career.

    Advice to Management

It would be an event better company to work for if it paid 10% more.

    Pros

Work life balance is excellent. Core values are safety, respect for others. Lots of opportunity for advancement. People are respectful.

    Cons

Corporate environment, difficult to get things done quickly. Employees are now doing jobs of 3 employees. Managers and employees are so multi-task oriented that projects are not done well with enough attention to detail.

    Advice to Management

Let employees focus on fewer projects, instead of being multi-task oriented. Overall, Dupont is a great place to work. Work / life balance is excellent.

    Pros

The environment at DuPont is wonderful and many of my colleagues are also very good friends. You feel that the company actually cares about their employees and does everything that they can to ensure a non-competitive environment. The quality of research is very high and the programs are challenging.

    Cons

There is always bureaucracy in large corporations, which is certainly an issue at DuPont. Things take longer than they should, but they eventually still get done.

    Pros

Work in CR&D as a Principal Investigator gives you a great overview of the many different business units that DuPont has. The hierarchy is relatively flat in the company and you will have the opportunity to interact with senior level management at many occasions. Progression is relatively strict and competitive in CR&D, better in the business units. But after 3-5 years in CR&D you have good opportunities to go into management or technical in a business unit, where progression is faster.

    Cons

Some red tape and a lot of meetings. Really good scientists to work with. Vacation time is too low in my opinion.

    Advice to Management

CR&D is a great place to work, more than two weeks vacation for recent graduates with a PhD should be the norm
