    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Dublin City School full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Well funded school system with great facilities. I have no problems with working here. I enjoy coming to work everyday and want to do my best for the students.

    Cons

Central Office staff are not connected to the buildings and have very little idea of what is actually happening out in the classrooms. Our incredible treasurer just left for a new job so something over there must be up.

    Advice to Management

Try to be more present in your schools, not just for social media opportunities.

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Dublin City School full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Teachers are first rate and very dedicated to the needs of the students.

    Cons

The district continues to grow as more and more students enroll and for those that are used to a smaller school system, the transition has been difficult.

    Advice to Management

Keep pushing the envelope and keep the focus on the needs of students.

    Neutral Outlook

I have been working at Dublin City School part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Schedule is good for having a family

    Cons

Too many supervisors, administrators with misguided priorities. Many times I feel i have to take on too much responsibility without the training or experience I should have to be with some kids.

    Advice to Management

Learn to value input from people who work directly with students; hear their needs and concerns. School board members need to take some time and work in the trenches with some of the employees to understand why the same requests are made over and over. Come be a paraprofessional sometime.

    Pros

People are great to work with and dealing with most of the admin side was easy.

    Cons

More supervisors were needed to have proper coverage of all things admin, supervising the staff and not being consumed enough to notice things that should have been noticed.

    Pros

Dublin city schools is a overall good place to work. The community is very supportive of the local youth. If you generally like kids you'll fit in.

    Cons

Nature of the school system to have specific professions with specific roles. Not as wide a range of position mobility as other industries.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Dublin City School part-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The pay is pretty good for a nonprofessional position.

    Cons

You seldom have contact with a supervisor. Performance reviews are very few and far between and some employees receive no reviews. The school board/central office administration is never seen in the schools.

    Advice to Management

Find out about each school and its employees. Administration needs to let the nonprofessionals know that their jobs a very important and appreciated. Solicit ideas and concerned from the employees that work directly with students
