    I worked at Ducks Unlimited Canada full-time

    Pros

    Amazing work life balance, working with a passionate team, talented people

    Cons

    Some pretty dirty politics, lack of planning and foresight, many of the same woes any non profit has.

    Advice to Management

    Stay focused on long-term success rather than band-aid solutions.

    I have been working at Ducks Unlimited Canada as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

    fair, environmentalists, lots of good moral people, nice work environment, kind people, flexible, encouraging, appreciate hard work and abilities, opportunity to move around in organization, do good work conserving land

    Cons

    not great location for Regina office, not enough communications people throughout the country, finance and administration systems online are not efficient, user friendly or intuitive, big organization so can be bureaucratic

    Advice to Management

    try harder to get the head office in tune with the regions needs and have a more balanced approach to reflecting the accomplishments of the Prairies

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook

    Pros

    * amazing location
    * great team
    * great non-profit to work for, if you believe in what they do
    * excellent benefits and salary

    Cons

    * an old-boys club
    * if you disagree with above "old-boys" you won't get very far
    * know they need new donors, but really want to hang on (to their old tactics of getting) old donors
    * you can't really teach a dog new tricks, even if you prove it
    * old, archaic IT technology, older than most working there

    Advice to Management

    Better reach out to your new donors and new workplace blood before you and the marshes dry up!
