I worked at Duke Raleigh Hospital (More than a year)
Small hospital gives community-like feel, great employees & supervisors. Location is great, close to downtown.

Temporary assignment. Not long enough.
The hospital staff (nursing, management, environmental services, radiology, etc.) are very friendly and helpful. The culture is such that people smile when they see you walking towards them, and then once you are within ear reach they say "Hi", "Hello", "Good morning", etc. If you are trying to find someplace and look lost, people will actually walk you to where you are going. The benefits (health, vision, dental, and especially educational) are really good. The Chief Nursing Officer and Assistant Chief Nursing Officer can regularly be seen in scrubs, helping as needed. The culture is one of transparency, where staff are regularly informed of upcoming changes and improvements. Management is very open to suggestions and ideas for improvement.
This is a small hospital, which I really like, but it might not be for everyone. It has always remained very competitive with pay, but I do wish I earned more. ;)
Advice to Management
Keep up the open lines of communication. Also, continue to be selective with who you hire and bring in. Your choices affect culture, and the culture right now is really great.
Good people, good opportunity. Excellent pay including shift differentials.
Outdated systems until they upgrade.
