    The environment is very friendly and many people are laid back. Great experience and opportunities within.

    Cons

    Low pay upgrade. Negotiate salary upfront. Training isn't the best.

    Better training.

    Fantastic health/education benefits. Support of leadership for professional development is excellent

    Cons

    Salary is lower than other local institutions but benefits make up for this shortcoming.

    Continue to facilitate an improvement in work/life balance

    sometimes cliquishness, sometimes hard to receive time off,

    actively listen and involve your employees ideas, take assertive role of being hands-on (you were staff before you were management).

    Prestigious name; depending on the department and/or standing of superior, access to tremendous resources

    Cons

    HR is only there to on-board, and does that slowly - will not intervene on workplace hostilities or other issues; if your superior is not in good standing, it is very difficult to get resources

    Great atmosphere and team oriented employees

    Cons

    Lower pay than other healthcare groups in the area. Although Duke has increased pay after employee strike.

    Promote the hard workers so they don't leave
