I have been working at Duke University Health System full-time

    Pros

One of the top research institutions in the country. Excellent clinicians and research professionals and a highly collaborative and friendly environment.

    Cons

The pay is not competitive with companies in the private sector and some research institutions. Lots of red tape and bureaucracy. It sometimes takes a very long time for a simple task to be performed.

    Advice to Management

If employees were compensated appropriately, turnover would be much lower for employees. Staff often leave to work for other research institutions or companies because the pay is much more competitive.
