    Pros

    Historic Company with tremendous potential.

    Cons

It's sad to see such a historic company lose its way so desperately. The strategy that was put in place less than 2 years ago, blown up and replaced by something that appears to be haphazard and irrelevant. Good people thrown carelessly away while others with less impact survive. No focus on providing logical reasoning for recent actions. The leadership has taken the employee base from highly engaged to actively looking elsewhere and hoping for a package....just very sad.

    Advice to Management

People are your best asset. It's important to treat them accordingly.

I have been working at Dun & Bradstreet (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Smart dedicated people in many areas who understand the business well.

    Cons

Already well documented in the last 20+ reviews here and as most can see, the trend is overwhelmingly negative in almost all aspects of reviews and metrics. Many know it and have left or are looking to leave.

    Advice to Management

get a plan that makes sense and stick to it or sell.

I have been working at Dun & Bradstreet (More than a year)

    Pros

When I was first hired the company preached about a modern approach, work life balance and pay for performance with great Moral. This was one of the best companies I had worked for until DBCC took over

    Cons

Work environment quickly changed once DBCC took over. Created a very hostile work environment, set us up to mimic a call center, raised yearly target the last quarter of the month which made it impossible to hit your target. Took away all bonuses and pay for performance. Asking for more work, more calls for less money. This year the insanly high targets make it unachievable for most. It's a strategy to push out current employees and managers to hire less qualified reps at a much lower rate.

    Advice to Management

Don't let DBCC take control. If you are looking for a more modern brand DBCC is going to ruin it.

I worked at Dun & Bradstreet (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The people. It was a company of incredibly driven, smart people who would run through fire to succeed and do a great job for their Customers

    Cons

No respect, appreciation or consideration for their employees or Customers. I had been with the business for over 15 years...left and have seen my fellow D&Bers let go in huge groups. What was once a proud and incredible company is slowly melting away.

    Advice to Management

Look around...your intellectual capital is gone or completely demoralized.

I worked at Dun & Bradstreet full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Management focused on niceties such a new logos, office space, etc.

    Cons

On Friday, there was a huge office party, with catered food, hired entertainment, bands, waiters roaming the hallways, etc. Following Monday, called into conference room and told no longer needed. I wonder how much the party cost, and how many jobs could have been saved with the money spent

    Advice to Management

The "new way of doing things" propaganda is starting to wear off...either deliver results or take a golden parachute. The stock is trading lower than it was 10 years ago..

    Pros

Product is good and some time you can make money.

    Cons

This company is losing market share and it's not a good place to be.

    Advice to Management

It's people that build relationships and happy reps make happy customers.

I worked at Dun & Bradstreet full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Quality team members across many groups. Easy to shut down for the day once you leave the building. The stress comes home but the work doesn't.

    Cons

Mass layoffs in small segments to avoid press. New hostile working spaces with a "big brother is watching" policy. Flexible working schedules - gone. Remote workers - gone. Sense of pride in your work and who you work for - gone. Should be a for sale sign in front of the building any day now since every group is now a silo and can be sold off as parts.

    Advice to Management

DBCC was an external parasite that brought the brand down. They are now back with the company and accelerating that destruction from within. Bob better watch his back as Jeff is gunning for that spot before he walks off with a big pay day.

    I worked at Dun & Bradstreet full-time

    Pros

Recognized name in the industry gives you credibility and there are a lot of good people that work here.

    Cons

Constant layoffs give you zero job security. They've laid off about 300 people in the last few months so this is not a stable place to work.

    Advice to Management

Focus on the real issue at hand, which is being overpriced compared to the competition. Reinvest in what made D&B great, the data.

    Pros

    DNB is sitting on Goldmine

    Cons

Senior leaders, who join from outside, have been using DNB company to make money and move on. They don't have any interest to grow the company.

    Advice to Management

Instead of changing the top management layer every 2-3 years, start promoting internal staff and have them run the organization. They know how to find gold mines, take it to the next level and grow it organically.

I worked at Dun & Bradstreet full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

More modern culture and relaxed dress code

    Cons

Layoffs and consistent poor decision making. Spend alot of money on wasteful projects that never pan out. Decisions from top down take too long and makes your ability to act very slow. CEO and executive staff not visible. Very political in all areas. Its who you know or are in with.

    Advice to Management

Get off the 4th floor and see how bad moral really is. Stop using people cuts to make your numbers. All the great people are leaving and you'll continue to have alot of attrtion.
