I have been working at Duncan Aviation full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

What drew me to Duncan Aviation was the culture that comes along with a family owned business. The attention to detail and quality associated with the Duncan name is what keeps loyal customers coming back.

    Cons

There is nothing bad I have to say about Duncan. The flexibility due to customer deadlines is tight, but that is the same at most companies.

I have been working at Duncan Aviation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You truly get a real family vibe working at Duncan Aviation. Team members are respectful to each other, regardless of length of service and position held. The owners spend a lot of time on site and make a point to engage with everyone they see; don't be surprised if they call you by name!

    Cons

Nothing major; communication, especially in a company this size, can always be something to improve.

    Advice to Management

Remain open to new and innovative ideas and keep allowing your employees to run with them!

I have been working at Duncan Aviation full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Family business and the family really cares about team members, lots of opportunities for growth and advancement, encourages employees to be innovative and puts quality work above all else

    Cons

Demands of the industry and taking care of our customers mean that the schedule is not as flexible in many positions

I have been working at Duncan Aviation full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Challenging, troubleshooting, new technologies, problem solving

    Cons

Work in uncomfortable tight spaces, mundane wire routing, repetitive tasks (terminations/wire routing), sometimes dirty, regular cuts to hands and arms, equipment access to accomplish work

    Advice to Management

Keep employees on a project from start to finish to avoid turnover inefficiencies. Have a standard and required class for training new employees

I have been working at Duncan Aviation (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Company Culture
    Co-workers
    Customers
    Flexibility
    Management

This place has always been more than fai to me over the years. Todd (owner) and the rest of the senior managers make it a point to walk the floor and be involved. Great Sales Team.

    Cons

There is really nothing too bad I can say about this place. They have always treated me fair. Some managers are placed in their position due to timed served rather than skill set but that's true about everywhere.

    Advice to Management

For the few that don't do this, just listen to your employees suggestions and go to bat for them when they need it. It's all about the relationship, do that and the performance issues will take care of themselves.

I worked at Duncan Aviation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The duncan family cares so much about there people that's why they've been around for 60+ years. They continue to be on the cutting edge providing top of the line products and services which makes me proud. To be able to say we provide that to our customers.

    Cons

Lincoln is a great place but I'd love to see the company expand and exceed expectations. We are a true global company. However it'd be nice to say we have a full maintenance service abroad across Europe, Africa, and Asia.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work. Continue to higher the people that care about the group rather than the individual. Cheers to a tight knit industry and a company that values the most important part. It's people.

I worked at Duncan Aviation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Medical insurance from day-one which I ended up needing badly.
    Leaving the company--happy days there.

    Cons

Management is a total joke. They have no people skills and even less management skills. The gyro shop where I worked was a good example of the "Good ole boy" club. Your review was done according to a matrix system. If you were weak in one area and improved, then they would find you weak in another area on your next review---all to avoid advancing you or giving any raises. Screw that game, I put in my one year + and got outta Dodge (Or Lincoln if you prefer.) The company should be renamed Duncan School of Aviation. Get on there, get some experience and get out.

    Advice to Management

Grow up and learn how to be a people person. Do your company a favor and learn some management skills. If not, stop being self serving and step down.

I worked at Duncan Aviation full-time

    Pros

The company as a whole is a leader in the industry, they don't get there by treating people poorly. Great company and great benefits!

    Cons

My manager, and others in the company, seemed more like fixtures waiting out their retirement than leaders moving the company forward.

    Advice to Management

Tenure is not everything. Make sure the people leading your teams are truly leaders and working on the same goals you have set.

I worked at Duncan Aviation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Awesome structures work. Some good employees, some good boss's. Any excuse to have doughnuts, pizza, or cupcakes is sought out.

    Cons

Supervisors and Management have no time for your concerns. Only want to hear good news, and only know how to tell you what to do. Many times the supervisors and management have no real input or training for you that's applicable. Do what I say, not what I do is their moto.

    Advice to Management

Stick around, and kill the company.
