I have been working at Duncan Regional Hospital full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Fantastic team based environment! Upper management is constantly on the floor asking if anyone needs help or more equipment! Almost all the staff are friendly and smiling. Love working here. Self scheduling.

    Cons

None that most other hospitals don't already face. Wonderful compared to most large hospitals

    Advice to Management

Maybe increase pay to slightly more competitive. Environment is worth everything

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Duncan Regional Hospital (More than a year)

    Pros

Nice co workers, nice patients, and a fantastic place to eat for sure! I really enjoyed most of the environment.

    Cons

Low pay, dangerously nosey supervisors who will pry into your private life and don't seem to like people who are genuine.

    Advice to Management

Mind your own business. If you have a great employee who is never late, does their job very well, and the patients love, don't worry about who they see outside of work.

    Pros

Health Insurance was decent to have and it was a fairly clean facility.

    Cons

I always dreaded coming into work for another day of backstabbing, demoralization, and disappointment that was the Emergency Department. The pay is awful and you are nothing but a punching bag for your co-workers and managers. The patients are all on welfare, never pay their bill, and act like they at at a five-star hotel in the tropics.

    Advice to Management

No use offering advice, this hospital is mainly run by people that have worked their way up from PBX operator and anyone worth anything will leave within a very short time.

    Pros

Duncan Regional Hospital is a great place to get started in a nursing career. Coworkers are very willing to share knowledge and skills.

    Cons

Poor communication between upper management and employees cause lack of trust in managers. Once assigned a position it is hard to transfer into another position - even when qualified.

    Advice to Management

Honesty builds trust and long term commitment from employees. If you want to build a committed team that is willing to work hard for you be honest, give feedback when needed, and provide opportunities for growth based on identified needs.
