    Pros

Managers and customers were all friendly

    Cons

Being able to make beverages and food orders for both drive thru in a timely manner and front counter while adhering to sanitary policies such as changing gloves after every order.

    Advice to Management

Hire more people and actually fire those who dont show up on time as this was a huge problem at my location.

I have been working at Dunkin' Donuts part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Managers do seem to assign you to what you do best
Able to choose availability and preferred hours from the beginning
Free food while working, and free / heavily discounted food while not
Managers seem enthusiastic to you working up the ladder
We do serve good food and drinks and the store atmosphere seems quite comfy

    Cons

    Management Differences are Obvious -
Different managers insist of different ways of completing work; what one manager says is fine another will tell you to never Ever try. Training videos show slightly different directions in food preparation than the managers suggest. This is especially difficult when making sandwiches and drinks as the Order of steps is incredibly important yet surprisingly varied between people. Especially under time pressure, if you hit someones nerves on the detailing the entire item could be thrown away and you have to start over!

    Training Consistency is (therefore) Lacking
With so many managers and such a large store to train on, what you are taught and how you are taught is mostly up to chance. You are often thrown into training without preparation and expected for the quick run down to stick. Managers may expect you to know sections of the store that you were never taught or practiced on, leading to disappointment on both your parts.

    High Stress Environment
Again because management can be contradictory and mismatched, when put to the breaking point things between crew members gets Stressful. Managers have a hard time containing anger and you have to keep thick skin to continue going. If managers don't set the example by remaining positive, neither can crew members and Especially Trainees.

The First Few Weeks Training Are Very Difficult!

    Advice to Management

Keep it more consistent between managers on how the store is run. Be accepting of the fact that different managers preferred different methods; crew members may have been Taught different methods and that is not their fault.

Allow trainees to learn and practice in a lower stress environment First. There are known times of the week that are more busy than others. Train members in the slower times so they can practice and make mistakes -- without too badly affecting the store's needs, or overworking themselves.

Keep a much more positive atmosphere. If managers can't "keep calm and carry on" when it matters most crew members can't either, as managers truly set the tone for what crew members can handle. There should be a nicer tone for asking questions instead of potentially carrying on alone without help. This creates trust issues and people making long term mistakes because they were too afraid of learning the ideal method. There should be more kindness towards the learning process as it can be difficult and even excruciating. Everyone makes mistakes. Keep it light and fun!
