I have been working at Dunkin' Donuts part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It is a good entry-level job. Work is easy to understand and get used to, and employees are given specific roles to fulfill. Schedules are generally flexible with days. Overtime is usually easy to get. Customers are nice to you. Every individual task is incredibly easy to learn, albeit some are very time-consuming.

    Cons

For somebody like me, who has a tight schedule, this job will not really work for you if you can't work many hours. You will be working minimum wage (or close to) with full time hours and no benefits. If you want more than 2 days off a week, you are useless to them. They only work 2 people at most on a schedule for night shifts, so tough luck if that is the only shift you can work while there's a full schedule. If you are able to work on night shift, or are forced onto that shift for some reason, the previous shift will most likely push all of their work onto you, and leave you with a humongous rush, getting in the way of you stocking for your own shift. Most of this work may be easy, but a lot of it requires time that you and your coworker (if you have one) are spending helping customers, since you only have 1 employee for drive thru, and 1 employee for the front counter. Morning shift is extremely rushed, with managers breathing down your back to get the drive thru average time down. There is too much stress on that shift, which is the shift that newly-hired people are "trained" on. By the way, there is no official training. You have to read a manual (which is more like a rule book), sign a contract, and then are sent off to start working at your store. There is little-to-no room for improvement, and a getting a pay raise is incredibly rare, saved for the manager's favorites. At least, this is the experience I've had in my store.

    Advice to Management

Be more flexible with employees. If somebody can only work 20 hours a week, then work with them. Some training would really help new employees stay and want to work. Either benefits or a higher pay for long-time employees would be much appreciated, since they are usually stuck with more work and hours. More employees on the night shift would be extremely helpful, since some locations are still busy into the late hours, and stuck with all of the previous shifts' work.

    Pros

I liked the environment. It was fast paced and everyone was so friendly.

    Cons

The only cons I have are the amount of people working each shift. It got super crowded sometimes.

    Advice to Management

I say work better on how many work on a shift, and be more enthusiastic when greeting your fellow customers.

    Pros

    -Good Mangement.
    -Nice people overall
    -Coffee & Donuts

    Cons

-No payment only after you have completed 24 hrs of training.
-If part time (started with less than 8 hours a day) no breaks or lunch
-The work schedule is not that great.
-Not ideal for a first job because even though they give you a week for "training" no one really has the time to actually train you properly and the location I am in no one had patience.
-Fast paced and stressful environment to work in. (Morning Shifts)

    Advice to Management

More patience and compassion towards your workers

    Pros

Decent for a first job, gained a ton of customer service experience and ability to be patient with people.

    Cons

Turn-over rate was terrible. Scheduling was a mess, employees were not treated with high regard. Started as a crew member then got promoted to "training manager" and eventually "shift leader." Way more responsibility without any pay increase.
