I worked at Dunn Solutions full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

I started working at Dunn Solutions as a junior ETL developer. This was my third job after college yet it was the first time I felt excited to go to work every day. It was challenging, it was intellectually stimulating and fun. I had a great opportunity to learn new technologies (we had access to the latest tools and whatever materials we needed) as well as the business side of things. Soon after I started, I was promoted to a Project Lead and subsequently to a Project Manager ( I was one of four female managers). I was involved in pre-sales activities, I taught classes, wrote white-papers and helped create new products. It was a great experience overall. There were some long days when client deliverables demanded, but life was never boring!
My Managers were always open to allowing me to try to work on new things, while I was trying to figure out what I liked to do best. They encouraged me to be proactive. They were helpful, providing me with the direction I needed to enhance my career path. It was nice knowing that I have support of my managers and my team.

    Cons

no summer hours, rarely allowed to work from home

    Advice to Management

    Pros

Interviews are short and sweet by a few charmers.

    Cons

Once you get there it is brutal micro management...and never endless questioning making you feel inferior to the egos of the company.

    Advice to Management

Turn down the pressure cooker....just because the company is not making the desired revenue numbers,,,,,why burn relationships...everyone should be treat fairly and equally. There are other partners that might do things differently and better.

I have been working at Dunn Solutions full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The company is growing and starting work with new clients on new projects. Additionally, the company is expanding into new technologies and platforms. There is a lot of opportunity to learn new skills and take on additional responsibility. The employees are good people to work with and there are some very smart and knowledgeable people to work with.

    Cons

The work can be demanding and overtime is required on occasion. No casual dress, only business casual. Flex time and work from home options are limited.

    Advice to Management

Consider allowing people more flexibility to work from home on a regular basis.

    Pros

A distinct advantage of working for Dunn Solutions is that you are free to expand your skill set and experience. Why is this important? In most technology companies you have a role to fill which can significant narrow your ability to see and try new technologies. If you have an entrepreneurial spirit, Dunn Solutions provides you open space to explore and grow.

    Cons

If you need to be directed on your daily tasks, likely not the place for you.

    Advice to Management

Delegate operational tasks, expose your talents to the world

I have been working at Dunn Solutions full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    + Excellent work environment.
+ Very talented colleagues who are always willing to share knowledge with you & help you grow.
+ Consultants get a chance to work with the latest & greatest technologies.
+ Consultants get a chance to work with a wide variety of clients from different industries (finance, retail, health, technology etc.)
+ Very flexible & approachable bosses & upper management.
+ Compensation & Benefits are at par with the industry standards. Good bonus structure.

    Cons

+ Consultants have to keep themselves update to date with the latest technologies & trends in the industry. Therefore, you have to spend some additional time on exploring & learning new stuff all the time. So if you are looking for a regular 9 to 5 kind of desk job. Then this is not the place you would enjoy working.
+ Very fast paced environment. So once again if you are looking for a relaxing and super easy-going work environment, this is not the place to be.
+ Working from home is currently not an option.

    Advice to Management

+ You are currently doing a great job.
+ Continue bringing in diverse & challenging projects.

I have been working at Dunn Solutions full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Pretty cool application development team, as the company likes to pick up newer technology and partner with growing software vendor. I think because this a project based consulting firm, we had the opportunity to learn newer technologies, and seldom get bored on doing the same technology again and again.

    Cons

Junior employee usually has enough time to study and pick up a technology. Unlike senior resources, we are usually under pressure to learn and get the work done at the same time.

    Advice to Management

The management team should make the office environment to be a more fun environment. For example, should make Friday a casual Friday ...
