I have been working at DynCorp International as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

They really take care of their people while waiting to deploy. The local management has a good rapport with the employees.

    Cons

Can be some lag between corporate and the deployed staff; not just the difference in time, but it seems that the corporate people aren't in a hurry to get things done in a timely manner.

    Advice to Management

I only wish there were more contracts for a bigger diversity of places to go when staff are looking to transfer.

I worked at DynCorp International full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Ethical company that cares for its employees. It is well managed and the personnel work well together as a team.

    Cons

Often requires traveling to potentially hostile locations. As much of the work is contract work, it is volatile in nature.

    Advice to Management

Rotate good employees from contracts that are closing out to other contracts. Remember to consider former employees for new opportunities that the company may engage.

    Pros

Excellent benefits, challenging work with the freedom to use outside the box thinking to creatively solve problems.

    Cons

Experienced reverse discrimination at one location.

    Advice to Management

Instead of basing assignments to team leader/site leader on former military rank, I recommend looking at the positions the person held and the responsibility that person had.
