Pros
Decent pay and grateful for a job
Cons
A lot of negative political and religious views
- Former Contractor★★★★★
Pros
Management was always caring and approachable. Communication with employees in Iraq was very good and updates on any operational changes were immediately communicated with all members. Payment was always on time and any pay queries were addressed and taken care of immediately.
Cons
Some employees were lazy and didn't pull their weight and due to the wide spread of operations throughout Iraq Senior Management was not always aware of such employees riding the gravy train. DOD didn't always report under performers to Senior Management

Don't consider this a long term job unless you like a hostile work environment.

Great pay: this is why so many people are miserable and stay at the company way longer than planned. Union: hard to be fired for retaliation and seniority rights. Travel. Per Diem for moving on top of pay per mile reimbursement. This job opens many opportunities and doors in aviation.
Cons
Union: prevents awful/rude/lazy workers to be fired. The job is way to broad (4+ different jobs are combined in to one) which severely prevents workers to become or continue to be experts at their job. This creates a hostile atmosphere. This job will trap you. This place offers the very best and worst company practices at the same time which will give you just enough incentive to stay while being miserable at the same time.

Decent pay and majority of employees are truly do care and does the right thing.
Cons
The in-country Program Management Office hires totally unqualified people just to fill manning positions and doesn't look out for employees. Don't be surprised if you're "asked" to resign six weeks before your contract expiration because the customer is unhappy with your performance but has no proof of this so called unsatisfactory performance.

The pay is still higher than most positions in el paso of the same skill set.
Cons
as far as contractor work goes, the pay is on the low end. Provided benefits will cost you a third of your pay check. Supervision is fifty fifty on getting a competent supervisor or not. Will get laid off soon after hire due to poor hiring schedules.
