I have been working at Dynetics full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Collaborative and positive work environment. Opportunities to develop technical skills and management opportunities. Generally find tasking both challenging and rewarding. Many company policies are focused on employee development and satisfaction. Work-life balance is important. Surrounded by extremely talented people that care about their work and company.

    Cons

Company has seen tremendous growth in recent years, but support staffing has not grown as quickly resulting in delays, etc. that can cause frustrations.

    Advice to Management

As the company grows, do not lose the culture, benefits, environment, and commitment to excellence that has made it such a great place to work.

I have been working at Dynetics full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Mostly seems to promote from within. Highly educated staff. ESOP is an interesting retirement benefit. Good work life balance. Traditional company may match with older staff.

    Cons

Low salary relative to similar companies in the area. Conservative company may not match with younger staff. Higher turnover than average, seems as if people leave in the first year or stay for thirty, very little middle ground.

    Advice to Management

    No major complaints.

I have been working at Dynetics full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    1. Above industry-level benefits 2. Excellent organizational culture 3. Great work-life balance 4. Very ethical and professional people 5. Company hires people for what they bring to the company (long term) not for what the contract position requires (short term) 6. Company offers regular (monthly) life-coaching seminars. 7. In-house nurse is a very convenient benefit. 8. Excellent HR and accounting folks and processes...

    Cons

    1. Because of the industry the company is in, the company is prone to the ebb and flow of the budget issues in the DoD. People scramble when the contract ends and there is no follow-on contract. There is no 'overhead' that can cover people while waiting. This causes a lot of anxiety and frustration when a contract ends - and there is no follow-on contract. The second result is people begin to look elsewhere. 2. Some...

    Advice to Management

    1. Invest in more 'skunkworks' like what Lockheed does. 2. Expand in other things (non-DoD) but do realize that commercial companies have a different product lifecycle - hence, the ebb-and-flow is not the same as the federal space. 3. Expand in other geographical locations where other contracts are located. Don't overly focus on the local customer. 4. Do something to address the ebb and flow (in between contracts)....

I have been working at Dynetics full-time

    Pros

Excellent work/life balance. Fantastic mini-courses offered on campus for free. Great reputation among customers. Very knowledgeable employees. On-campus extras like a gym and daily lunch vendors.

    Cons

Not always easy to change teams or departments. Likelihood of working off-campus at customer sites, which aren't as nice as headquarters.

I have been working at Dynetics full-time for less than a year

    Pros

The people at Dynetics are wonderful! Most everyone is very team oriented and for the most part they revel in each others successes! That is very encouraging. Most people here seem to really enjoy their job and that's comforting. We do a lot of exciting work here at Dynetics, so it's definitely a cool place to work. I very much enjoy the push for a great work/life balance encouraged by all of the on site amenities: fitness...

    Cons

Sometimes the high expectations create a fear in employees to fail.

    Advice to Management

Communicate more openly. Don't hold things so close to the chest. If a few people know, it will spread like wildfire! Be open and honest with your team. When changes are coming, tell them. When you tell them talk with them about the positive and the negative impacts. Reassurance can do a lot for your organization.
