I have been working at Dyno Nobel full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I have only been employed by Dyno for a week. So far, it has been an amazingly refreshing experience. Everyone with whom I have had contact has been professional, extremely friendly, and very eager to help. From the Talent Acquisition person, all the way through to the plant level associates, all interactions have been pleasant. They make me feel at home, as if I truly belong here.

    Cons

None yet. I see a bright future ahead.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work!!

    Pros

Awesome industry. SLC location is great for commute

    Cons

Communication is lacking throughout. Silos are so large to manage around. Voice of the employee is not important. Progression in employee skills set is non-existent unless you are at a director level. Am I valued?

I have been working at Dyno Nobel full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Very employee centered with good pay, benefits, safety programs, and working conditions. Big enough (~5,000 employees) to have big company positives yet ran like a smaller company.

    Cons

Mediocre administrative support. IT group changes programs just for sake of change just as efficiency gets in place.

    Advice to Management

    Need more opportunities for advancement.

    Pros

The business cares about its employees! There is a lot of room to grow with the business and if your up for the challenge there are opportunities to really make your mark.

Awesome teams out in the field that really make everything happen. Who wouldn't want a career in manufacturing chemicals and playing with explosives!

    Great location, under cover parking

    Cons

Keep the direction clear and communicate it to the business.

    Advice to Management

Keep making these improvements and investing in your people..

I have been working at Dyno Nobel full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great people and nice office. Average benefits and a possibility of a bonus at the end of the year

    Cons

Massive layoffs leave everyone overworked and underpaid. Management switches every year or two and there is no stability.

    Advice to Management

Work harder at making the people that work for you feel valued. That does not always mean compensation. Get to know the people. They really are great.

I worked at Dyno Nobel full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

It's a job and a place to get experience in a production operator sector.

    Cons

    Double standards.
    Large pay discrepancy between operators.
Discrepancy and irregularities between the work expectations between the different operators.
Highest paid operator actually does the least work.
    Insurance isn't that great.
Safety is often over looked or pencil whipped.

    Advice to Management

Perform formal employee evaluations, pay employees based off their work performance instead of years employed, promote employees who go above and beyond, stop the double standards in treatment, stop turning a blind eye to all the safety issues and equipment destroyed by elder operator, stop relying on one employee to carry the weight of the others. This list could go a lot longer.
