    I worked at E. A. Berg & Sons full-time

    Pros

This is one of the best companies I have worked for. They provide training, communicate very well, and really live by there mission and vision statement.

    Cons

Benefit package could be a little stronger.

    Advice to Management

I would recommend hiring a training direction/manager to ensure all regions/districts are being consistent. District Manager's are not always to the best to train new employees.

    Pros

I have had the pleasure to work at E.A. Berg for the past 8 years. The senior management team is very approachable and sets clear / achievable goals.

    Cons

Not necessarily a con, but more team building events. Another suggestion would be doing a presidents club for our sales associates

    Advice to Management

Continue cultivating your sales associates and building the next generation of leaders!

    I worked at E. A. Berg & Sons (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Company Vehicle,iPad Technology, met some real nice Customers along the way.
I never had the pleasure of meeting the Owners(sad that they put all their faith in a few unsavory individuals in NJ-GB)

    Cons

1#Upper Management(Sales Dept, lacked speedbag and testes),way too many stores to call on and having to pick up replenishment product at a Wholesaler all the way in Downtown(miles away from my territory),total inconvenience.

    Advice to Management

The clock is ticking on your reign of idiocy.

I have been working at E. A. Berg & Sons full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great company. Great people, a family atmosphere. Decent starting pay. 9 holidays off. 5 sick days. Starting 1 week vacation. Every person in the company is a decent hard working regular person. Not many with attitudes, but a few. If you can learn HOW to do the job, you'll be fine.

    Cons

You need to learn how to work the job. Sales are the easy part. Understanding your actual job is the hard part. Raises aren't easy. Health plan is expensive. This job is all about numbers, not sales. Learn how to make the numbers and you'll be good. Resist, do it your way, try to reinvent the wheel and you'll have a hard time here.

    Advice to Management

Every DM and field rep needs better training at the beginning. Their should also be interval training. Retrain your field reps once or twice year, but not in the field. Maybe one on one at the office. The DM meetings are great, but the field reps need that type of training too.
