    Pros

This requires 20 words but I honestly can't think of a single good thing about working at E-One except some good coworkers.

    Cons

Highly underpaid and management that couldn't care less about the employees. Mandatory overtime almost every weekend and if you can't work weekends when they decide they want you there, your fired. Management constantly lies to employees, especially about overtime. The engineers copy and paste from past trucks instead of engineering new parts and I've actually heard an engineer ask a floor employee how to fix an engineering mistake. Save the headache and keep looking.

    Advice to Management

    Start over

I have been working at E-ONE full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Overtime is always available and that is the only way you will make a living working here you will have to devote your life to the company. Surpringly relaxed when problems arise and they know it will take time to fix and make sure you get the help you need.

    Cons

Extremely underpaid for this type of work. Building custom firetrucks is not easy. They want you to push out a a lot of fire trucks with perfect quality but they don't want to pay you for it. Fair pay is all we want we are not looking to get rich just be able to make a living off hard work building million dollar for trucks custom. And of people really like what they do but at the end of the day your paid pennies. The engineers that work for this company are the worst I have ever worked with so much time is wasted trying to build a truck off of their designs. Truly embarrassing. The Moto for the company is don't like we will find someone else. And they always will it's a revolving door of you will put up with the low pay and mandatory weekends this job is for you.. but please go somewhere that if not at least care about their employees the will at least compensate you for your labor.

    Advice to Management

Don't have unreasonable expectations and think mandatory 10 hours Fridays and Saturdays will cure all your problems. The employees have families.

    I worked at E-ONE full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Pay is average to above average for this area. The hours are good for those with families. Overtime is always available.

    Cons

E-One Admin Management ALLOW the Warehouse Management to not only Sexually Harass the warehouse employees, but also allow the Warehouse Management to belittle the warehouse employees. Calling you white trash, piece of crap, etc. Management intimidates the floor employees, especially those that are there through the Temp Services.

    Advice to Management

By allowing your Floor Warehouse Management team to belittle your employees, the ones who do the hard work and are there everyday, is opening yourselves up to a lawsuit for a Hostile Work Environment. Treat your employees as human beings and be more positive. The reason your turn over is so high is because those that have left no longer tolerate being talked to in a crappy manner. You will get better results in a more POSITIVE environment.

    I worked at E-ONE full-time

    Pros

Great industry....building firetrucks is something you can be proud of.

    Cons

Constant change in management. Fire industry spending is very dependent on municipal spending.

    Advice to Management

Management seems to have finally righted itself and cares about the customer again...keep heading in that direction.

    I worked at E-ONE full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Can't really think of any, except the roof hasn't caved in yet. Many good employees work here.

    Cons

Plenty of backstabbing, throwing people under the bus or firetruck, lack of respect to the employees, family means nothing to management, they expect everyone to be like robots, under paid employees, plenty of disparaging remarks, no one has the employee's back especially HR.

    Advice to Management

try valuing your workers. Let's face it. It's all about money. Upper management has everyone below them scared. lower management will throw anyone under just to keep their jobs. That's how this company works. Upper management intimidates lower management. Lower management intimidates the workers. The workers are pushed to their physical limits til they snap and then they are replaced. God has a special place for these people.

    I worked at E-ONE full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good People , Good wages for the Area , Good Benefits , At the time I worked there a Privately held Company from New York City was taking over the company. E-One was faltering and was sold for a Paltry 8 Million Dollars the last I had heard ( but may not be right ) but 1 80 Million + world wide company being sold so cheaply got a lot of ears. But I understand that the Company is beginning to turn around. But has lost a good deal of the Fire Apparatus Market. I did along with most Employees enjoyed working there

    Cons

forced overtime , at times overbearing Supervisors , and finger pointing, There were times that you never knew where one stood. You could be transferred ,laid-off or down right fired. the Company could always come up with a reason to be rid of someone if they rubbed the Supervision wrong or when an Employee tried to right a wrong the Supervisors to Plant Managers would circle the wagons and take care of the ( Disgruntled ) Employee or Employees.

    Advice to Management

Last I heard , they need to act as a team with their Superiors and the Employeed people under them.

I have been working at E-ONE full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good health, dental, vision, and life insurance plans. Also have a good retirement plan.

    Cons

They Do Not give annual raises (it will take 2 or 3 years to receive a very minimumal raises).
They Do Not pay for performance (if you work hard, do extra, make improvements for the company they do not care, its the same as if you slack off).
They need better management and human resource management.

    Advice to Management

If you don't have good employees with high moral, they Do Not care about the product or company's well being either. Its a two way street.

    Pros

    Good quality and good offering

    Cons

Employees are not valued. Employees feel the company is using the current economic conditions to take advantage of them. The availability of other employment options is exploited by management -- "if you don't like it, go somewhere else."

    Advice to Management

It's time to survey employees about working conditions and begin working to create a better working environment. The employees are your most valuable asset.
