Everyone has the ability to initiate changes to processes and to procedures. If something doesn't work, you can make it better.

    Cons

There is constant change to the organizational structure and it is at all levels and all divisions. The company has had 8 CEOs in 10 years.

    Pros

Good benefit package. Able to work remotely when needed. Interesting work, never dull. In my area life work balance was good.

    Cons

Life work balance was not good consistently in all areas of E*TRADE. Corporate politics within execs and senior management impacted moral in many areas. The value of PMOs and project management was not truly appreciated.

    Advice to Management

E*TRADE needs to invest in leadership training and a mentorship program for all levels of management (Director, VP and SVP). Specifically need to understand that people are not widgets, you do not manage them, you lead them; you manage inventory and budgets. Do not treat your people like inventory. I suggest they read "Leadership Secrets of Attila the Hun" as a good starting point.

I have been working at E*TRADE Financial full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Health and other benefits package are great! Compensation package has room for improvement. Recent company decision to hire more FC's resulted in less than desirable lead flow issues.

    Cons

Compensation plan is below industry. Recent internal changes in syatems usage has made the role more clerical than sales oriented.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the sales team and consult with them before implementing systems changes that takes away time from selling

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

If you are talented and can meet and exceed expectations you will quickly learn a lot of what is in place. The environment used to be very friendly and team work used to have a heavy percentage of performance

    Cons

The senior management focus have shifted over time since the current CEO came on board, and there is a heavier shift toward doing what senior management want instead of what may make more sense at grass root level.

    Advice to Management

Make plans more transparent, instead of having people wondering if/when they would need to look for a job, let them know you appreciate their work and not just shake them off like dust on your shoulders.

    Pros

work on latest technologies is very impressive. you will get an opportunity to work in a fast paced environment.

    Cons

Hectic work, too much hostility. Too many components to deal with. Very large system, lot of teams work. If an issue happens, lot of people are involved to trace.
