Know the right people. Ask to be in more leadership roles. Distinguish yourself as a leader among your team. Ask for help from managers and team leads. Volunteer a lot asyou get to know manager from different teams

    great location

    Cons

slow moving, the team did not execute things quickly. Most projects were done over weeks. This is partly because of poor communication between departments

Smaller company with pains associated with growing into a bigger company. Always have the threat of a takeover from a big predator. Management training is weak and can be improved

I worked at E*TRADE Financial (More than a year)

    Pros

Great Training, Great Co-Workers, Abundant Overtime if wanted

    Cons

Clientale can be absolutely savage, the day traders especially. There is a lot phone based customer service that isn't necessarily financial services. Be prepared to walk older clients through on how to use the internet and here them complain about how the website is too complicated on one call, then get yelled by a day trader about the website not having complex enough tools to execute his more than likely losing strategy on another call.

    Advice to Management

Wish I had words for improvement, but a lot of the problems are just the nature of the job

I worked at E*TRADE Financial full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    - I was blessed to work with a great team that always looked out for each other and made sure that we always produced the best customer experience.
    - Great compensation and benefits too.

    Cons

Some of the senior management has resulted in making E*TRADE a very stressful place to work. there is a lot of finger-pointing and blaming when things don't go right. People don't want to "get in trouble."

    Advice to Management

E*TRADE is a place where everyone loved to work. It is now regressing into a place that people aren't excited to get up every morning to go to. I used to LOVE going to work every day but in the end, it became a true struggle.
