I have been working at E*TRADE Financial full-time

    Pros

Great benefits, and good pay. They understand the job is tough, and try to pay you to compensate. Great training, and benefits from Day one. Parental leave, with good 401k mathcing and HSA contributions by company.

    Cons

stressful job, answering calls all day. Unfortunately, the management disciplines through fear, and instead of trying to get to the root of the problem, you are presented with a verbal warning, then written warning, and termination. A fear based culture will never produce the best results, needless to say loyal employees.

    Advice to Management

If you want to decrease turnover, and improve the employee experience you need to stop worrying about your own job and put the needs of your team members before your own.

I worked at E*TRADE Financial full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

This is a decent place to get the 7 and 63. They spent a lot of time in training, you felt like you could do the job. Rewarded good producers.

    Cons

It's a call center with unsophisticated clients. More tech support then Finance. Rewards were geared more for quantity over quality, get your leads & your promotion.

    Pros

Decent benefits and structure. Most of management is fair but strict. You average call center environment with stats and metrics. Easier to move up in the company than similar companies.

    Cons

They are open 24/7 so you may have to work weekends and all types of early/late shifts. They switch the shifts about every 4-6 months. There is a shift bid and metrics, performance, and time there plays a big role. If you go a minute over your break or take 5 minutes to go to the bathroom someone will probably let you know about it. There is "required overtime" from during busy times which can be good for extra money but also a drag.

    Advice to Management

Treat employees more like humans instead of metrics. Some management is awesome and some is less than awesome. It really depends on which team you get put on.

    Pros

The culture is that of cooperation within the small groups of polite employees. The facilities are clean and presentable for guest

    Cons

Back office politics hinder workable conditions. The company prides itself on technology but still us old and outdated systems. The pay is not competitive with like positions in outside companies

    Advice to Management

Competitive pay would assist in attrition risk

    Pros

The people, although most are now gone with the restructuring. Good work / life balance and benefits. Good location.

    Cons

Lack of focus and no clear direction from leadership on brand, customer target, product priorities or "why ETRADE?". Not a lot of innovation, and if there are ideas, there are roadblocks everywhere. Morale is very low.

    Advice to Management

Less "barking" and complaining. More professionalism and true management/leadership.

    Pros

some really nice people work here who have worked through 5-8 CEOs and management transitions. They love the company and their jobs, but they are not in HQ. Some of the divisional or subdivision managers are professional and competent.

    Cons

senior management team is entirely all white men. lacks diversity and appreciation for diversity. a few even have to tell you "i'm really smart - I know what I'm doing. I'm an expert" in Town Halls. HR ignores all complaints.

    Advice to Management

    Become professional.
