I worked at EAGLE RIDGE PAPER full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

Great idea when I started, large amounts of inventory to sell from different locations. The packaging of their product was one of the best in the industry.

    Cons

Every decision was made in California. The company sold merchants before entering the end user, no knowledge selling to print shops, publications, etc. They stopped ordering paper to every market, and commissions were changing constantly.

    Advice to Management

    I believe they have closed.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at EAGLE RIDGE PAPER full-time for more than 6 years

    Pros

Could have potential but hindered by anti-dumping duties

    Cons

Recent unethical management style from Indonesia, terminated #1 ranked sales rep. Poor pay, inconsistent paper quality makes it virtually impossible to retain customers' business, furthermore company does not uphold customer claims. Long approval processes to get anything done both internal and outward customer facing. Several of my colleagues will also be resigning.

    Advice to Management

You are doing business in the United States, not in Asia (language/communication ability also lacking). Please treat your sales people fairly as they are the face of your company. Try listening to the employees on what the real business obstacles are, instead of placing personal blame and cutting people's salaries.

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at EAGLE RIDGE PAPER full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

Work from home, part of billion dollar company. Management for the past 2 years have made strides in difficult conditions. Has potential with breadth of product offerings.

    Cons

New Indonesia senior management implements salary reduction even when you are the top ranked sales rep. Cannot understand their heavy accented English. Bad reputation in the paper industry, they are short term with customers. Lots of quality issues with stock, with expectations to sell at premium.

    Advice to Management

Learn what it takes to do business in the U.S first (Asian business mentality will fail), and treat your employees well because they are the face of your company.

I worked at EAGLE RIDGE PAPER full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Working from home office can be productive, you are not micromanaged if your numbers are up to expectattions. Original product launch was very successful. Professional/seasoned sales force.

    Cons

Ineffective management with little or no understanding of the industry. Continual QC issues with products from China and Indonesia, company does not stand behind their products and rarely honours claims even with strong evidence. Weak/ineffective US based Technical Support staff. Poorly trained Customer Service, toxic work environment in Anaheim office. There is no formal training especially for individuals without...
