Working for EAI for over 3 years has proven to be very profitable in many ways.

    Pros

First, it offers you the opportunity to gain and sharpen programming and management skills; EAI offers hands -on experience on both new and old technological tools used in the software industry. Again, the company has great potential, following the introduction of newer Microsoft tools which are on the fore of the software industry, plus the creation of new a technology team which applies the newest software tools in creating cutting edge solutions to our clients. There is a fairly good relationship between management and everybody in all teams and suggestions are welcomed. In my team, my inputs are accepted, discussed and implemented when they make sense and applicable to the scenario. I will also agree with the 1st reviewer in the sense that remuneration is fair for a company of this caliber and still do believe that things will keep on improving for a continuous cohesion of the company’s goals and employees’ expectation.

    Cons

Management should make more effort to put up a more vibrant reward package for deserving employees apart from yearly reviews

    Good place to work

    Pros

EAI employees care about the company and care about each other. At the time I had left they were working on a major upgrade.

    Cons

Some disconnect between senior management and workers. Could do a better job in fostering ideas for the company.

Good place for rookies, bad place for experts

    Pros

There is wide range of technologies and things you can learn. The atmosphere is rather good. Salary is decent. If you are a rookie, this is a good place to start.

    Cons

Most of the stuffs that are working were built on old technologies. New development is struggling due to lack of vision and control. Your expertise may not be appreciated here.

Could be better with policy changes

    Pros

    Flexible work environment, friendly staff

    Cons

Not much growth opportunities, low pay, over adherence to old technology, lack of modern technology or new technology skill set, over reliance on offshore team without proper communication and technology infrastructure, good employees come and go due to dissatisfaction but management (primarily president) isn't concerned, too much focus on making revenue than creating quality product making management (again primarily president) use sub-par strategies like relying on offshore developers with little to no skill.

    Working here hurt my career

Mar 6, 2014 - Software Engineer in Beaverton, OR

    Pros

Some of my coworkers were great people, convenient location near WES line.

    Cons

EAI is on a downward spiral of losing clients and laying off valuable employees, then repeatedly attempting and failing at outsourcing engineering jobs to the 3rd world. The worst part is that the technology and the software engineering practices are so archaic that my skills are worse after having worked here for 3 years. Knowing every employee very well, I can guarantee that the positive reviews dated 6/13 and 9/13 are shills entered by the president.

Good for short term but that's all..Cap time there after 4 yrs top

    Pros

It has a flexible work environment, good place to get early experience since you're thrown into the cluster from the start. Salary isn't bad and in the first few years there it rises til it caps.

    Cons

Company does not acknowledge over achieving employees and in some cases you would find people who are either lazy or do not contribute much in the system being acknowledged more than hard working people. Management makes sole decisions and employees have little or no say. Where decisions made by management affects a project, the pressure is shoved on employees. Lack of planning and organization made on projects by management creating a mess and unsatisfied customers. Too much adherence to old technology and management refuses to see the way forward in terms of newer technology. I agree with previous reviews. Cap your years there at a maximum of 3-4 years and move on.

Good to start, but cap your time at 2 years

Oct 3, 2012 - Software Engineer in Beaverton, OR

    Business Outlook

    Pros

You are thrown into the fire immediately to learn quickly. In school you don't have the opportunity to troubleshoot coding work that does not follow common standards, here you will gain this experience which helps to make you a better developer. Benefits are good and pay grows quickly, but flat-lines after year 3.

    Cons

Micro management, complete disregard for employee suggestions. Decisions are often made by upper management (President) without any input from those in the trenches. Increasing use of off shore developers slows response time for customers. Using off shore developers without a solid internet connection, and limited communication abilities drags projects on and on. Lack of use of newer .NET technologies. Also, what the first reviewer said.

Could be a great company/product if it had management ability

Oct 23, 2008 - Software Engineer in Beaverton, OR

    Pros

most employees receive a healthy regular paycheck, job security no matter how poor your performance is, the location is wonderful.

    Cons

No opportunity for personal growth, no opportunity for career growth, lack of management where it matters and excessive micro-management where it doesn't matter, lack of planning combined with drastic knee-jerk reactions creates much stress for employees and client base, zero recognition of overachieving employees except in private yearly review, no bonuses/incentives of any kind.
