I have been working at EBI Consulting full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Gaining a variety of experience. Exceptional people to work with. Always busy. No commute related expenses (i.e. gas, mileage, maintenance) and time better spent...not stuck in traffic. Management shows appreciation for good work and offers assistance when needed. EBI has an incredible staff of professionals who understand what it takes to work as a team without throwing others under the bus to climb the corporate ladder. I intend to stay with EBI for the remainder of my career.

    Cons

You are expected to meet proejct credit goals within a typical 40 hour weeek. However, this is rarely possible so you end up working longer hours. Since pay bonuses/adjustments reflect meeting project credits (not hours worked), its difficult to get a decent bonus. Lower spectrum pay.

    Advice to Management

Should consider revising individual pay according to specific local pay scales.

I have been working at EBI Consulting full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Leadership is supportive of employees looking to take on more responsibility
    Flexible work schedule
    Commission available for most positions
    Company is in GROWTH mode

    Cons

Coffee isn't great but there is a starbucks around the corner
There are 400+ employees, about half of the company works remotely so getting everyone on the same page can be difficult given there are so many remote employees

    Advice to Management

    Hire more people.
    Open more offices
    Encourage phone calls to emails

I have been working at EBI Consulting full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Very entrepreneurial and rewarding environment for any knowledgeable and ambitious environmental or engineering professional. The company is quick to recognize top performers, and is growing quickly, so there are always opportunities to seize for advancement into management. There is lots of work to be done, and management does not particularly care when and where it's done, just that it gets done on time and well, so there is an extraordinary amount of freedom and flexibillity. Quality and special level of customer service are really important here, so not the right place for someone that wants to punch in 40 hours and go home at 5.

    Cons

The company is very busy and growing quickly, so the hours needed can be high. They are always hiring people, but can't seem to get ahead of the growth curve. One needs to speak up sometimes to be heard, as there is alot going on.

I have been working at EBI Consulting full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Industry leading group of employees, the company only hires the best people. EBI is the only real engineering company in the industry - the competitors are not. EBI is a great place to work if you want to learn about a diverse set of service offerings. EBI is the due diligence industry standard - there's EBI, and then there are the others who want to be. EBI sincerely values its full time employees, they do their best to make you feel like family.

    Cons

You have to actively seek advice and training from management, they need to provide more training. If you are a remote employee, you have to work a bit to stay connected, though they do sponsor remote employee meetings all over the country. There is a lot of travel involved with many of the jobs.

    Advice to Management

Keep on training and engaging the employees, especially the remote ones that work from home. Senior management should attend the employee get togethers. More teamwork and collaboration among the different business units would go a long way.

I have been working at EBI Consulting full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Considered an industry leader. At EBI you are afforded the opportunity to get involved and make a difference. Ability to learn, grow, develop and expand in your career long term. Some new additions to the senior management /leadership team over the past year has been a very good addition as well.

    Cons

With a lot of employees being remote, and on different time zones, communications can sometimes be a challenge. But this is probably the same in other companies & industries.

    Advice to Management

Stay the course, and continue to communicate, as you started to do even more of this past year. Increase communications. Beneficial to hear more about company vision and plans, and how that relates to us all.

I have been working at EBI Consulting full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Top performers are routinely recognized for their contribution, and the company has made adjustments to the management structure over the past year to provide more opportunities for advancement. Diversified service lines offer many avenues for employees to advance their careers, if they show initiative and aptitude. Generally speaking, the company places a greater value on quality of work more than quantity of hours. Those who succeed are those who consistently take on challenges, exceed expectations, and ask for more. If you sit back and do your 40 hours per week and wait for a promotion to fall in your lap, well, you may be waiting a long time.

    Cons

Being such a decentralized company, employee engagement is always a challenge. A 40-hour week is definitely not the norm, and you can get overwhelmed if you don't learn to say "no", which you are fully empowered to do. It comes down to each individual's personal work/life balance equation. Even though the company has expanded advancement opportunities, they are still relatively limited. Those who work in remote locations far from the corporate office have to work harder to be recognized for their efforts. Establishing good professional relationships within the company is critical to success, so if you don't possess good interpersonal relationship skills, you are at somewhat of a disadvantage.

    Advice to Management

Continue efforts to improve remote employee engagement. There is still much to be done in this area.
