      Advice to Management

no one cares how many hours you have worked in a week, if the turbine needs to be online it will be online. we dont get tool that make our jobs easier and safer because of "that is not in the budget". asked to repairs and maintenance on turbines without work instrutions or even the right tool for the job. very frustrating that management comes out to site to give a rah rah sis boom bah speech on that we apreciated...

I have been working at EDP Renewables full-time for more than 5 years

      Pros

The company has a lot of smart, talented, motivated employees. People work very hard here and energized to make a difference. We attract a lot of great talent because the renewable industry is appealing to many young and passionate individuals.

      Cons

The company runs extremely understaffed in many departments to save money. In some groups, one employee is doing the workload of 2.5. Many have to work weekends to keep up. A lot of uncertainty and speculation around what will happen to the company because of the CTG bid to takeover. Since no one tells us anything, few updates by management and a lot of secrecy; the employees are left to speculate. I’ve seen more employees...

      Advice to Management

Go back to being a people focused company. Under the former CEO, the company have a different feel. Employees felt cared about and appreciated. Now, everyone is another number to produce maximum results for the parent company without us seeing any increase in pay or benefits. Listen to the feedback you are receiving from the employees. The few who are brave enough to speak up are telling the truth.

I have been working at EDP Renewables full-time for more than 5 years

      Pros

Not many left aside from the leftover generous vacation policies and benefits package from the former CEO.

      Cons

Unfair, unethical, and discriminatory behavior by management and other employees completely overlooked and seemingly encouraged by HR department. Very flat management structure and little room for advancement as people from the overseas parent company are back-filling positions left open by the unbelievably high attrition caused by extremely low morale. Many open positions not being back-filled at all. Very demoralizing...

      Advice to Management

Get serious about stopping toxic work place behavior and start valuing the talent that made the company a success in the past. Stop sending survey's asking employees for feedback every few months and continuing to allow things to deteriorate and toxic behavior to thrive. Rebuild an HR department that seeks to get the best out of employees and create a good work environment instead of protecting bullies.

I have been working at EDP Renewables

      Pros

      - company seeks to grow aggressively, so they are keen on keeping good people, even mediocre people so job security is high - pay and benefits are pretty good (single and junior employee) - senior staff has been fairly approachable in my experience

      Cons

      - sometimes messy and missing a lot of structure to convey institutional knowledge; if you're not proactive, your careeer development will languish - stressful at times

      Pros

Never a boring day, continuous improvement and challenges, and awesome team support. Work life balance is respected as long as you get your work done. It’s a pretty flat organization so access to Directors and EVP mentorship is good. Also, many promotions are from within.

      Cons

Growing pains as the company rapidly adds staff and projects can cause miscommunication between departments. It’s a pretty flat organization so if you’re after shiny titles in rapid succession this isn’t the right fit.

      Advice to Management

The consistent attention to improving benefits, learning opportunities and work life balance are much appreciated!

I worked at EDP Renewables full-time for more than 3 years

      Pros

The salary paid was decent and benefits were ok

      Cons

bullying mentality, gossip seems to rule and push people out. discrimination is alive and well in the corporate office. tons get called in because of the fear of being sued no matter what the truth really is. High turn over ratio due to stress and being pushed out. Horrible open floor concept with zero privacy, tends to people gossiping about what "they thought they heard". Cons

Worst IT Department in Existence, does not communicate, very slow. When you start it will take 1 month+ to get your computer set up. Any incidents take 1 month+ to fix. You can not do your job correctly because the IT team is so bad.

      Advice to Management

      Get a new IT team
