  1. "Always Growing"

      Current Employee - Anonymous Employee

I have been working at EEI Global

      Pros

EEI is a place that has been growing since day one and it is constantly looking to improve in every area whether it be employee wellness, approach to new business, or office lay out.

      Cons

It is a relatively flat organization but if you work hard and want more, there is always opportunity.

      Advice to Management

Continue to improve on advancing and growing your employees. It has been improving but it can grow at an even faster rate.

I worked at EEI Global full-time for more than 6 years

      Pros

Nice facility Some decent people in the trenches

      Cons

The management team is clueless. They are more focused on lining their pockets than doing good business. You are just a number. Very high employee turnover. They are losing business left and right. Joining them would be like hopping on a sinking ship.

      Advice to Management

Hire a real manager that knows how to grow and maintain business.

Thanks for your feedback! Some of our folks are true road warriors (not every position requires it, and we appreciate those who do). The flexible structure is a personality trait as well - EEI adjusts to the talent, opportunities, and projects/programs and we keep an entrepreneurial ...

I worked at EEI Global full-time

      Pros

      - Daily grinders were nice, friendly people to work with and get along with - Benefits package was pretty standard

      Cons

      - Pay was well below industry standards - Company had a very high employee turnover rate - Management is killing the company slowly

      Advice to Management

Everyone in the industry knows each other, so employees know when they are being taken advantage of in one way or another.

We definitely appreciate candor. Not sure where you get one of those daily grinders, but I can at least speak to the turnover (actually below average for the market, area, and industry), and the compensation (not top of the market, but absolutely in range). Amy D, HR

I have been working at EEI Global full-time for more than 4 years

      Pros

Flexible work hours, casual dress code, and really friendly people. The benefits are competitive and even pretty creative. People have the ability to really mold their roles to their own strengths. Its a pretty flat organization, so not a lot of room for title growth, but definitely room to add to your skill sets, expand your role, and grow. Leadership is diligent about holding quarterly meetings to keep employee...

      Cons

Some of the internal processes are complicated and can be challenging to learn; There are times when the workload can be very demanding / requires long hours for weeks or even months at a time.

      Advice to Management

All of the senior manages are strong, principled, and approachable. Believe there is opportunity to build better partnerships between / amongst the internal departments.

"Should be an accounting company not an exhibit company"

        Current Employee - Anonymous Employee

I have been working at EEI Global

        Pros

Flex-time, casual attire everyday, a decent benefits package.

        Cons

Senior management is clueless. They want to charge premium prices for an average product. Everything is about margin and yet they don't pay their employees the commissions owed to them. NO ONE gets what they are promised coming in the door. They screw everyone out of their commissions and bonuses so the owner of the company can pocket all of the profits and give himself a $1,000,000 bonus!!! Idiot left his pay stub on...

Wow - a CEO who makes his own copies! I have never seen a bonus check like that come through, and I process the payroll... I would agree (as would anyone here, I think) that our processes are complex, and we do have a big accounting / finance team - we actually consider them ...

I have been working at EEI Global part-time

        Pros

I like working at EEI because we not only work hard, we play hard. The employees always seem to have something to look forward to, such as free Detroit Tiger tickets, Company picnic, or our amazing Christmas party where gifts and even cash prizes are raffled off.

        Cons

Not a lot of cons, yet it's easy to get in, it's hard to be promoted or given raises.

        Advice to Management

Our health and dental care benefits are more expensive this year,, because it seems like EEI is trying to save money but in the wrong way.

        Cons

no strategy in place for growth, type of place where you get more credit for looking busy by walking the halls with your phone to your ear and saying the right things to look or seem busy vs. actually producing results

        Pros

You can wear jeans to work every day. There is a nice espresso machine in the break room. Benefits package is better than at other places.

        Cons

No real training for new employees. Some members of upper management are never around, and have no idea how to use the software the rest of the company has to use and as such these particular managers do not require that those under them use it properly, which causes major work-flow issues and forces other departments to constantly do more work to compensate for this. Most departments aren't held accountable for their...

        Advice to Management

Pay your employees a fair wage. Make work/life balance a reality for all employees, not just upper management. The "old boys club" mentality (which isn't just men) that exists is glaringly apparent to everyone there in terms of favoritism that is shown to some people, no matter how bad they are at their jobs. Policies for things like comp time for travel or weekend work should be the same for all departments.

Thanks for your suggestions. We have added more structure to our onboarding / new hire training - and we still have room to get better for sure. Some areas / jobs / leaders have done better with the work/life balance options than others, and we will keep working on that, too.
