I have been working at EF Education First

    Pros

EF is a company that cares--for both its customers and employees. EF works tirelessly to provide amazing, experiential educational opportunities for as many people as possible. By having a mission that is focused on developing others and broadening their perspectives of the world, the company culture ends up mimicking that very mission. There are plenty of opportunities for professional growth and career development at EF, in addition to a social culture that makes you want to come to work! From the beautiful, open office space that encourages collaboration to Zumba classes to summer move nights in the park outside the office, EF wants its employees to feel comfortable being themselves and also help them grow into their best selves.

    Cons

EF does have a very strong culture--it''s young, fast-paced, and innovative. For some, a fast-paced environment where things are constantly evolving and changing might be frustrating. There are also plenty of opportunities for growth, but you do have to be comfortable advocating for yourself. If you enjoy innovation and change, and are a motivated, mission-driven person, you will thrive at EF!

I have been working at EF Education First

    Pros

EF gives recent college graduates the opportunity to gain valuable experience at a very young age. You will have the opportunity to build your resume with experiences and responsibilities you wouldn't be able to get so quickly at another organization. It is a culture unlike any other- you will be surrounded by mission driven employees with interesting and diverse backgrounds who are passionate in their day to day work. You will always understand the bigger picture and what you are working towards. EF values work-life balance and while you WILL work hard, you will be encouraged to celebrate hard when goals are met. Flat structure makes senior level management accessible.

    Cons

Must be a self-starter. If you can't take something and run with it, the lack of micromanagement might be difficult for some. Pay is not great at first, but if you succeed in your role and are patient, they reward top performers. Not a place for people who need step-by-step manuals for how something should be done-get comfortable with gray!

I worked at EF Education First full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The company offers excellent benefits to full time employees, though they're better for local (Boston) employees than remote. You will test your self on how much work you can do and learn your limits.

    Cons

They will work you as much as they can - upwards of 70 hours a week during the peak season - 7 days a week. There is no overtime (you're salaried). General disorganization and secrecy among the top. They cherish their middle management and deplore their foot soldiers.

Incredible work culture. Ample professional development opportunities. Flat company; able to share and implement ideas without 'red tape' limitations. Lots of responsibility.

    Cons

Long hours for management. Short-sided actions taken that limit long-term productivity.

    Pros

Great for just after college. Nice vacation and decent travel benefits

    Cons

The management team is unstructured and plays favorites. You better hope you are one of the chosen ones or else they will see you as invaluable and not help promote career growth

    Pros

The best school director to work with! great co-workers, great corporate culture (innovated, detail oriented, people oriented; also there are trainings for staff, there are celebrations of holidays/ events like recently 50 years anniversary of EF), there is always an opportunity to grow personally and professionally.

    Cons

while peak time the part-time employees (summer interns) should be trained well to deliver the best experience for our customers

I have been working at EF Education First full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Interesting work, great health benefits. A good taste of business / sales / operations for young people out of college but beware of handing over 10 years of your life without realizing it!

    Cons

Work hard play hard is really another word for "live to work" and not "work to live". I can see why others think EF is cultish because it is all-consuming and you could work 100 hours a week for your whole life and never feel like you can do enough. Culture that breeds workaholism, affairs and kills families.
