      Pros

You will gain a lot of skills that will be useful for the workforce, EF is one of only a few companies willing to hire right out of college.

      Cons

Cliquey structure, management friends with teammates and if you don't drink the coolaid you pay for it. Long hours and pressure to stay late. Very low pay. Micro-managing and social pressure used to get employees moving ( publishing call logs to see who has spent the most and least amount of time on the phones, constant pressure to participate in social events after.outside work etc).

      Great company culture

      Pros

EF is an amazing place to work (Boston or Denver). It has a young, active, innovative culture and goals are always celebrated! Your ideas will not go unheard at EF, no matter your experience. The benefits (travel, 401k, flexibility), the employees, and the culture are what keep people around in a very low-paying company. Many people get the opportunity to travel internationally in the first few years depending on your product.

      Cons

EF describes your growth within the company as a spiral staircase, so be prepared to try something completely new after a few years in your role in a different product or to leave the company totally. I've seen colleagues start in shipping, move to IT, and then sales, or even move offices abroad to try something new. There is a ton of turnover because EF pay is very low, but if you can accept that, you will have an amazing career here full of great experiences. Depending on your role, expect to work long hours during "busy season". I've never wanted to leave after I started 4 years ago. It's been an amazing work experience and continues to be, and I wouldn't trade it despite the low pay and sometimes long hours.

      EF Education First Response

      Senior Director of People Operations

Thank you for this feedback! Your review hit on some of my favorite parts of working at EF -- the culture, travel, colleagues, and opportunities to innovate and bring your ideas to life. I'm glad that you're motivated and inspired by our "spiral staircase" approach to career and professional development, but you're right -- it's not for everyone, which we understand. Thanks again for this great feedback. And look forward to your 5-year anniversary, when your 401k match fully vests and you get another couple of vacation days! -- Mike Kaufman, Sr. Director of People Operations
