    Pros

Good benefits, room for growth within the company, employee participation in different events. Continued education and sponsorship to obtain required licenses

    Cons

A lot of work sometimes can get overwhelming, some managers need to be more supportive with the employees to give the extra hand when needed

    Pros

Laid back office, while serious and professional, you can also hear a lot of jokes and laughter. Good pay with decent benefits, offers a good chance to organize your office the way you want, no standard way of completing transactions or storing files, etc.

    Cons

IT is TERRIBLE! Systems are so outdated it will drive you crazy, servers go down constantly, EFG offers no training, you are thrown into the fire and must learn on a trial and error basis. Technologically far from a US company. Management is very difficult to get a hold of, you will need at least 1 manager to sign off on certain time-sensitive transactions but good luck finding them around. Some are very unwilling to help.

    Advice to Management

Take better care of the assistants and operations crew, one of the managers admitted to me that they don't do a good enough job developing their junior employees. Also, company needs to update ALL of their systems that are severely outdated.

I worked at EFG Capital International (More than a year)

    Pros

The vast network of clients and subsidiaries they have really allows you to handle all sorts of different situations which thereby give you a wealth of experience. The vacation time is fair and well paid. Special training and certifications are sometimes offered to employees (all expenses paid if it's in other countries).

    Cons

CRO's can sometimes really place pressure on the rest and may be a bit over demanding. Some of the offices are a tad tight.

    Advice to Management

There should be more communication between departments so that the work flow is smoother. Perhaps some cross-training would be of use?

I worked at EFG Capital International full-time

    Pros

All they do is private banking
    Entrepreneurial
    International network
Client first operating model is great
Salaries are okay and very little performance follow up and accountability
    Great vacation day/sick day allowance

    Cons

    Systems
    Poor management
Uncertain future and years of lackluster results
Little to no communication with operational/support staff
Losing front line sales people like never before
Too many layers/inefficiencies of compliance here and in Switzerland
Little to no training or career development
Benefits, especially medical/dental insurance are not competitive
Not sure I can trust my employer to "have my back". They seem to play favorites and have gotten rid of some good people under unclear circumstances

    Advice to Management

Communicate and let us know what is going on
Lots of new senior management that are adding additional bureaucracy
How can we grow if we continue to lose our top sales people

I worked at EFG Capital International full-time

    Pros

Management loyal to staff but inconsistent and do play favorites
    Good working conditions
    Average benefits package
    Little accountability

    Cons

Health plan is not competitive and has high deductibles
Operations and compliance salaries are lower than average
Management doesn't communicate regularly or effectively to staff, just occasionally to sale people
Sense that business is suffering but no direction on how to correct
Ridiculously poor systems and manual processes

    Advice to Management

Improve the health plan and share more in cost
Improve the 401k match. With no pension or other retirement benefits the 4% matching (75% of 6%) is very low
Communicate. All staff, including ops and compliance count, not just sales people.

    Pros

Very humane management. Navigated the Financial meltdown of 2008 with tremendous care for its employees, avoiding massive layoffs. No training unless you really seek it. Very quiet environment, large number of spanish speaking employees. Nice offices, company provides reasonable benefits.

    Cons

Poor technology, maybe too much unnecessary micromanagement for example, arrival time checks...

    Advice to Management

None, They do a good job.
