I have been working at EFI full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

The flexible work schedule is great. Co-workers are a high point of this job and company. Select managers are willing to mentor those below them.

    Cons

Little room for advancement. Priorities that change abruptly and randomly. A great deal of organizational changes in a short period of time. Severe cost-cutting and off-shoring is reducing morale in the US.

    Advice to Management

Communicate a complete vision down the ranks and try to eliminate moving targets. Be realistic about the benefits of offshoring versus the costs, both tangible and intangible. Provide your top performers a path to advancement and reward them appropriately.

    I worked at EFI

    Pros

    1) good office location 2) flexible work environment

    Cons

    1) No respect for people 2) Still using old technology 3) No growth 4) Very low Salaries 5) Lack of innovation 6) Mostly engineers work only on bugs. A very few people work on new development. 7) There is nothing to learn. 8) Lot of time to sit idle and doing nothing. I have seen many employees doing this.

    Advice to Management

    1) Talk to people and value them 2) bring innovative and young talent

    I worked at EFI

    Pros

Flexible work environment, if you miss deadlines - no problem, everyone else does too so no big deal. Fridays in the summer are like half days in grade school after liquid lunch at the town docks you get to go home!

    Cons

Last min travel? Management has no issues asking if you'll leave now, like book a flight and don't spend to much time packing because you'll miss you flight kind of now. Management got 360 reviews one year and true store they promoted the one with the worst 360 review to director. Finally got raises after 3 years 2% increase, really no raises for 3 years and that's what employees deserve after the companies records... a record year?

    Advice to Management

Major changes are needed. Not really sure where they should start or if it's worth it. Growth is coming from competitors who are dying because print industry is dead. Invest in digital displays is the best advice I could give them.

I have been working at EFI

    Pros

Some great and talented people Nice building/location and views Free coffee & tea Good cafe Flexible working hours in some teams

    Cons

Senior management is clueless, they don't know how to even use our software, yet they feel the need to constantly override the experts on usability, and design considerations. There is a culture of holding huge expensive meetings to argue over every feature and issue, wasting time just to please management & VPs, when a few of us could've got the job done in a few hours. Senior management talks about encouraging... innovation, but it's all talk - in fact you are punished for innovating, by gaining more work, and endless bugs for the rest of your life in EFI. Promotions are in the form of more responsibility and work, but no more pay. Future development & innovation are really the lowest priority in the company, instead the priority is bug turnover and dashboards, not people or features. The company is milking the Fiery cash cow and the overlying theme is 'Just ship it!'. Pay rises are non existant, even if you perform better than your peers. It's a shame as there is some amazing talent in this company, and when motivated and driven can produce sensational results. But all those people are stuck working on bugs, and their resumes.

    Advice to Management

Talk to the staff, but not in a huge meeting where no-one speaks up. Look at who are your most valuable players, and pay them what they're worth. Let your people do their jobs without micromanaging them. Give everyone the tools they need to do their jobs, and stop being so tight on basics like current computer hardware. Realize your people are your greatest resource, not just a cost to the company.

I have been working at EFI full-time

    Pros

Flexible working, work from home, good benefits, good colleagues. Opportunities to travel.

    Cons

Based in the main UK office, job security is very poor. Staff is overworked due to bad (non-existent) management. Staff is made redundant or encouraged to retire early. Career progression is almost non-existent.

    Advice to Management

Invest in all your employees not just those in India
