    I worked at EFI

    Pros

    - Technical leadership and innovative ideas are valued very highly - Provides a very flexible work culture and less bureaucratic environment - Maintains nimbleness for an organization of its size and scale - Executive leadership has demonstrated its versatility in diversifying the business over the years

    Cons

    - Matrix organization induced confusion in terms of product ownerships - At times, becomes conservative and adopts a risk-free philosophy

I have been working at EFI full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

    1. Environment: Leadership provides freedom to put your thought and they even go one step further to help your good ideas to get to maturity. Dedicated forum to present any new thought/process you have in your mind. 2. Culture: We have good number of Company events through out the year to show case the hidden talent if any. It has got a pure milk vending machine which I love the most. 3. Flexible work timings 4.... Open with Financials: One thing I liked about this company is when company was in financial crunch (due to US economic slow down) it openly came to employees for cuts and when it came out of economic crunch it openly came out with the revisions. 5. Company has got very aggressive Technical, Leadership and Sales team which gives one opportunity to learn and grow in ones respective area/s.

    Cons

    1. Some times you have to push yourself to keep up the pace with the team and development happens in the company. 2. Salary structure is not straight forward and aggressive HR management does every thing to make your salary look higher then what it is. Like including gratuity in the package.

I have been working at EFI full-time

    Pros

    1. Flexible work hours. 2. Friendly co-workers who share many common interest. 3. As mentioned in the title, a job is better than none.

    Cons

    1. Pay below market. MAY get a raise if you ask for it. 2. Management does not share information freely with employees. Got most information through grapevine. Only occasionally, major events like layoffs, resignation and new hires are announced. 3. Low productivity among my colleagues due to low pay, lack of motivation and trust in management. 4. Company closes office on certain days and force employees to take... their earned vacation on those days or take no pay.

    Advice to Management

Treat employees with respect and fairly. Get in tune with what your employees are really saying. PAY THEM MARKET RATE. If not for the lousy job market, all your experienced staff would have left. Problem is, when economy and job market improves and you need the right people even more, your most experienced people will be gone.

"Smart People - Questionable Decisions; Lack of Focus on what is REALLY Important"

I have been working at EFI

    Pros

    - Smart People - Flexible Work Schedule

    Cons

    - No career advancement - Lack of pay increases - Bad product decisions - Upper Management feels it is more important to save money by sending jobs outside of the U.S. than finding local people who are qualified to do the work. - No effort put forth by upper management to better the communication and strengthen the teamwork between U.S. jobs and those in India.

    Advice to Management

Actually do some research about the decisions that are being made about products. Listen to your customers and sales people who work directly with the customers when making a list of future features to implement. Keep your products up to date with design and technology, do not only focus on trying to add new features. Spend money to give the engineers the tools and technology they need to do their jobs... effectively. Start having your managers listen to the employees. This goes all the way up to the top. Your managers are only as good as the people that you have working for them. We care a great deal about the products we work on, maybe more so than the managers. On the same note, consider promoting your top talent before you lose them. If you are senior management and you are reading all of the reviews, thinking we do not have an accurate perspective of how the company is run, start communicating with us more so we can see what you see. Right now, obviously, we do not.

    I worked at EFI

    Pros

Good pay Good benefits Nice package Team outings, yearly company outing Nice people to work with Flexible working hours, no constraint on time

    Cons

Technically stagnant company Rude management including HR, Technical and Facilities No Work from home option even if you are sick/ bed ridden

    Advice to Management

Innovate.... Innovate.... Innovate.. Come up with new products so as you can compete in market and grow strong. Firing people is not solution to strengthen your financial problems.

I have been working at EFI

    Pros

Flexible working ours (you don't have to show up at 9 am as long as you work 8 hours a day)

    Cons

Very low salary and benefits. There is no growth potential at all. They would always look for someone from outside to fill a position rather than promoting someone. The owner and the top management robbed the employees for several years (no bonuses and no RRSP contributions and reduced benefits) in order to look profitable in the eyes of potential buyers.

I have been working at EFI

    Pros

    - Flexible working Hours - Work from home options - One of the Product based companies and a R&D center - Outings

    Cons

    - Pay (Haven't given hike in 2 years and the 3rd year hike is too less compared to market) - Lack of technical skills from superiors - Lack of planning in the Products release - No on site opportunities

    Advice to Management

    - Management should take care of Emplayees - Reform should be done in Policies to be in favor of employees
