I worked at EL AL full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The atmosphere is very family- like, you earn a new family when you work there.
the benefits (cheap flights) worth it all.
    Great flexibility for students.

    Cons

The salary is not the best. its good as a completing salary to a partner that makes a lot more, or for a student.

    Advice to Management

Be more attentive to the "little people" in the company, the low level employees who usually work more than everyone else but sometimes gets stepped on.

I worked at EL AL full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Stand-by tickets with El Al airlines, 50, 90 or 100 percent discounted.
Discounted tickets with majority of airlines, based on flight availability.

    Cons

Unsatisfying effort - pay ratio, ground time is not included in paid hours, which is especially upsetting during unplanned delays.

In comparison to other major airlines, there is a very limited amount of family members who can acquire benefits of discounted tickets. Also, it's company policy never to upgrade an employee or his family member, even if there is plenty of spare seats on board in upper classes.

Temporary contract for 5 years with very slim chances to get a permanent position.

The amount of flight attendants per passengers, established by the company is low, and keeps decreasing over the years, which clearly affects provided service and employees' awareness.

I have been working at EL AL full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Employee rate for flights!! good for young mothers, reasonable working hours for non-management. There a few perks as free lunch, laundry service and other

    Cons

Too much politics, very low promoting options, non-existing work/life balance for mid level management and above. The offices feel old and mirroring the company's attitude

    Advice to Management

Start promoting people from the inside instead of bringing outsiders for all management positions, break the unions and improve paycheck for the valuable employees

I have been working at EL AL (More than 8 years)

    Pros

It is a steady job, good pay, it is very close to major cities, every body knows every body, a family like work place.

    Cons

Constant fighting with management, very hectic schedule due to the constant labor dispute with owners and management.

    Advice to Management

    Take a look at Delta..

I worked at EL AL full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Perfect team, not too bad salaries in case and you're "permanent" employee.

    Cons

Most managers (with some exceptions) that I've worked with, were undereducated and it was absolutely unclear how they were promoted to their positions. Provocative and rude behavior toward employees.

    Advice to Management

Review the policy about promotions and send managers to courses to learn how to be managers. Just a shame.

I worked at EL AL full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Amazingly discounted flights
Social Benefits on a big scale
Shuttle transportation to work from a significant radius of places.
    Mess hall.

    Cons

    1970s thinking in personnel management.
Heavily afflicted by incompetent Unions, thinking about themselves first and company betterment second.
You cannot fire practically anyone who is in the Union!
Meaning, incompetent frustrated employees are shuffled around to positions they don;t like and don't want but obliged to accept, since they have no choice. They interfere with the work of a lot of hard-working and motivated younger employees.

    Advice to Management

They know exactly what to do, this is why there is a deadlock in the negotiations with the Unions for 3rd year straight.
