I worked at EMBARQ Logistics (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Steady with excellent salary, and benefits.

    Cons

Very prejudicial, and vindictive, upper management.

    Advice to Management

LISTEN to your field personnel in the trenches.

    Pros

Embarq had very good team atmosphere and everyone worked hard in a very competitive environment. Formal processes were good and kept competitiveness.

    Cons

Too many company changes. Sprint to Embarq to CenturyLink. The EFI business was sold off. These were not very good management decisions.

I worked at EMBARQ Logistics full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Well paid, good bonuses. Benefits and pay were above average, bonus nearly always paid. Goals were usually obtainable and could be achieved, at least partly, each year.

    Cons

Very restrictive culture, not used to competing as it is a division of regulated telcom company. Very conservative and not willing to "learn" to be competitive.

    Advice to Management

Executive management made decisions in a vacuum - in many cases, these decisions couldn't be implemented. And they had a shoot the messenger attitude - so no one was willing to tell them when something didn't work.

    Pros

Pay is average. You can be left alone to do your job.

    Cons

Since the buyout by KGP benefits have taken a major down turn. They don't care how many hours you have to work especially if you are salary. You must play the political game. Past management from Embarq have no clue how to bring in more business, how to keep relations with past business, or how to see problems within the workforce.

    Advice to Management

Don't cast a blind eye to internal problems. Don't overlook your people as if you are something better. Talk to all your people not just some of your people. Stop interrogation of subodinates about their managers.

    Pros

Excellent salary and good benefits with great people to work with below the sr management level; people want to do the right thing and get the job done.

    Cons

Management only interested in themselves and not in the people; perfectly willing to do whatever it takes to make their bonus regardless of whether its the right thing or not.

    Advice to Management

Start looking forward and not backward; people there want to win and not just be treated as a set of numbers and that can be laid off to make your bonuses.
