I worked at EMC full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Cutting edge data storage technology. Fast paced environment with direct feedback from customers is a plus.

    Cons

Large and expanding company attempting to merge many engineering tools, products, and workflows.

    Advice to Management

This is a great workplace with opportunities for effective and hungry engineering employees. Focus on keeping teams with a long tenure together and add in individuals with the same design vocabulary for the sake of product and support continuity.

I worked at EMC full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Dynamic environment with opportunities to grow.

    Cons

The meager with Dell is a cultural collision. The EMC way was successful and aimed at a top down approach of bag the big target and not to worry about the crumbs. Dell's culture appears to be aimed at the more commercial sector. The transition of moving from one model to the next is what cost me my position as things shake out and transform. Should be interesting to see how it all turns out.

    Advice to Management

    Best of luck
