    Pros

Huge company, with many internal opportunities for learning and growth.
Great Benefits, Low cost health care, life insurance, Tuition Reimbursement.

    Cons

Merger between EMC and DELL had some negative impact on culture and management structure. Some poor ideas were introduced by the incoming company relative to human resources.
Lost stock purchase program during merger, and no comparable replacement was given.

    Advice to Management

Enough outsourcing, better companies are made from better workers.

    I worked at EMC full-time

    Pros

They have extensive technical training that was an incredible foundation for my first year in sales.

    Cons

The environment is very much like a fraternity with people receiving promotions they did not deserve or earn.

    Advice to Management

The boys club at EMC was uncomfortable to be around.

I worked at EMC full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Impressive gamut of technologies at DELLEMC that are the leaders in their respective fields [for the most part].

Very competitive pay, opportunities for advancement. Flexible schedule and decent opportunities for advancement.

A lot of training available and flexibility to choose how you spend many days. I liked to take 4 hours once a week for some dedicated time for developing a knew skill.

    Good benefits, tuition reimbursement, etc…

    Cons

Company culture in Utah seemed exclusive from my perspective, I found it difficult to get along with colleagues in a casual setting.

Highly competitive with no clear indicators for success. Likely related to the High attrition in management.

Nearly two years since the acquisition by Dell and there are still several redundancies that duplicate workload related to the knowledge base, Code Base, CRM, HR, AR/AP.

Inequality among employees with regards to responsibility, and almost zero accountability among support staff.

    Advice to Management

Commit to a single method of communication and customer relations management. Allow for some transparency between colleagues so workload is not so staggered.

Make support staff accountable for their mistakes so they may learn and grow.
