Fallout from buy-out has cost many jobs in the US.
Acquired by Dell everything went downhill. There was no communication, leadership from Dell. Employment instability stays constantly behind the mind of every employees.

I worked at EMC full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Dynamic environment with opportunities to grow.

    Cons

The meager with Dell is a cultural collision. The EMC way was successful and aimed at a top down approach of bag the big target and not to worry about the crumbs. Dell's culture appears to be aimed at the more commercial sector. The transition of moving from one model to the next is what cost me my position as things shake out and transform. Should be interesting to see how it all turns out.

    Advice to Management

    Best of luck

I worked at EMC full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

I worked at EMC for over eight years before we merged with Dell. I enjoyed the culture and liked working there.

    Cons

Leading up to the Dell merger, it was all about the numbers. No one really cared about the customer in the end. They just wanted to save money.

    Advice to Management

Push back to the executives when all they want to do is outsource. Just ask the customer what works best for them. Using overseas resources for Professional Services is not going to retain customers.
