    I worked at EMC full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    I worked at EMC in IT prior to the Dell aqcuisition. I don't know what Dell EMC is like. There was plenty of opportunity to pursue interesting things.

    Cons

    Not really a con but I didn't match the culture well. And when that is the case, things rarely go well. It was a big place with big place annoyances.

    Advice to Management

    Think of other people first. That's really more like advice to any human being... but I always got the impression they were mostly focused on looking after themselves.

    I worked at EMC as an intern

    Pros

    Great pay, work from home ability, flexible scheduling, great opportunity to learn and use enterprise grade software as an intern

    Cons

    Not much to do in terms of work depending on which team you intern on, could have been better organized for the team i was on

    Advice to Management

    Have a solid plan for what interns will be doing for the summer

    I worked at EMC (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    EMC Corp is a great company to work for. Very few larger companies allow a developer/analyst to where many hats. Benefits are excellent, Managers provide the tools needed to do proof of concept and advance. EMC Corp is very team oriented/driven. The people you work with are all in and wonderful to work with. Now IT is a Software As A Service (SaaS) and it works great...

    Cons

    Restructures and HR seem to be detached from the business imitate/long term needs.

    Advice to Management

    The statement in the cons selection pretty much sums this up.

    I worked at EMC full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    * Competitive compensation and benefits
    * Opportunities for internal advancement / career growth
    * Experience working globally

    Cons

    * Your experience really depends on the group you are in. I worked a couple wonderful groups and a couple horrible groups that ultimately led me to leave. Woe is you if you end up on a large program there.
    * Very large, a lot of politics
    * Work life balance can be achieved, but again very much depends on your manager and group. They will work you to the bone if you let them.
