Some of the managers are very knowledgeable and can potentially learn a lot if you pay attention. Its about half and half
Cons
Where do I begin? Low wage for highly skilled labor. This company preys on inexperienced college workers looking for an internship. No drive time pay so a 12 hour day is paid for 8 hours; its almost criminal. Long days are seldom appreciated by some managers. Some managers do not even work in the field. 2 managers seem to bicker at every opportunity making it the problem of everyone else. High turnover plagues this company. All this combined, throwing human suffering at million dollar projects for $11/hr was the cherry on top.

Excellent Experience
Apr 20, 2017 - Restoration Tech in DeKalb, ILRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
This company works on a variety of different natural resource projects throughout the chicagoland area- and you get a lot of experience working under some pretty knowledgeable people. The hourly pay isn't bad, it is pretty competitive for other companies with similar positions. You get the opportunity to work in some high quality natural areas, learn a lot about native and invasive plants, and work with some really awesome people as far as peers and management. I would recommend working here to gain experience in the industry, with potential to move on to higher positions if that's your thing.
Cons
Long hours Long drive times, but its better than driving myself and paying for gas. imo.

Low pay but great coworkers
Feb 24, 2017 - Field Laborer (Restoration Division) in DeKalb, ILRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
-My coworkers and managers were all genuinely good people and made the physically tough job more bearable and fun -Benefits available to take out of paycheck -You actively get to help restore native land, get to work in many different preserves, and no two days are ever the same
Cons
-Low pay for hourly workers -Unless you live by the shop to carpool, there is a lot of driving and you are not compensated. I was driving anywhere from the northern Illinois border near WI to northwest Indiana and some of my total daily commutes were over 3 hours -Since this work is determined by weather you might not work every day if there's rain, too much snow, a high heat index, or icy road conditions

You can build a career here if you are willing to work hard.

Owners are accessible and open to new ideas. People seem to get along well with one another.
Cons
Hours can get long, but are well worth the time.

Do NOT work for this company
May 6, 2015 - AutoCAD Specialist in Cortland, ILRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I gained experience in AutoCAD and other internet applications.
Cons
The company brought me in as an AutoCAD specialist. I received training and the company proceeded to work me to death. I was told I was doing well, and then out of nowhere, the company let me go the day before Christmas with the bogus reason that I was not doing well. After putting two and two together, I learned that they only wanted me to catch up with their work load during their heavy seasonal work load. Also, my insurance was going to kick in, so they didn't wanna pay it.
