I worked at ENGlobal full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Paid well. Seemed to care about their employees. Lots of free doughnuts and perks. Fitness center downstairs. Not much stress or pressure.

    Cons

Being a typical EPC firm, they hire up when they have work and lay off when the work ends. Nothing personal...just business.

    Advice to Management

Good people are hard to find...maybe figure out a way to keep them when things slow down. Little more supervision of projects might head off surprises, instead of just trusting people to do the work.

    I worked at ENGlobal

    Pros

Good company struggling with current extremely poor industry conditions. Pay and benefits are at or above industry norms. Unlike many consultants (especially larger ones), not just a job shop.

    Cons

Not really any significant issues that aren't directly attributable to current industry conditions. For instance, pay raises were postponed, growth opportunities somewhat limited at present, but more a result of lack of work than anything directly related to the company.

    I worked at ENGlobal full-time

    Pros

Great work environment, talented coworkers, advancement training.

    Cons

Occasional unrealistic project deadlines promised that required staff to work many hours of overtime and holidays.

    Advice to Management

You have everything in place, treat the work producers with the respect you give clients, fair but honest.

    I worked at ENGlobal

    Pros

Some strange reason they continue to get projects. They really are a disfunction group of non-degeed so called engineers.

    Cons

Mangement lives in a dream world. They need to clean house. Too much old dead wood have been hiding there for along time.

    Advice to Management

Be true to yourself and quit trying to doctor your books to look better then you are.

    Pros

You get to work with a handful of really great people, who are knowledgeable and willing to teach you what they can.

    Cons

Majority of management has basically checked out and encourages interoffice conflicts.

    Advice to Management

    Stop picking favorites.

    I worked at ENGlobal

    Pros

An EPC like any other. Just a lot small and lower pay with projects that have shorter cycles.

    Cons

Smaller projects mean that your more dependent on the maintenance budget each year of your clients.

    I worked at ENGlobal

    Pros

Good pay & benefits. Great non-management workgroup, hard working team in most instances.

    Cons

...but not for long. Advice to potential EMPLOYEES. It's a crapshoot. I feel like it's my moral and social duty to implore you; DO NOT QUIT A GOOD JOB TO WORK FOR ENGLOBAL. If your unemployed, give it a shot, but be prepared to face future hiring consequences when they fire you after they've sucked the life out of you like the marrow from a bone. They will lure you with good pay and benefits to obtain your... services to meet government contractual requirements, and then they will cut you loose. They lie and say they will train you and work with you to learn the new job and industry, but that is a fallacy. You are then jobless and without benefits, and they do not care in the slightest. There is no legal recourse. This has happened to more than one person and constitutes a pattern. They will set you up and try to make you feel like it's your fault, but don't consider that you can compare your work ethic and production to those that are retained. It's a highly political clique and they protect their own for some reason. If they don't lay you off, and you are not part of the chosen few, you will work the most grueling schedule of your life. It's a sweatshop to end all sweatshops. DO NOT BE THEIR NEXT VICTIM.
