I have been working at ENSCO full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Smart people and flexible work hours, including work at home. Interesting working on the space program.

    Cons

Small company has no 'bench' if it should loose a contract. It support is remote. No real business development effort.

    Advice to Management

Work on business development. Try for other contracts at ksc and the air force. Improve it support by hiring a local engineer.

    I worked at ENSCO full-time

    Pros

Like McDonald's...you don't need experience and when you start making money...time to go elsewhere.

    Cons

No Long Term Engineering opportunities. Company cleans up after development engineers make a mess. No sustained growth. No remote office survived. Limited for career development. Corporate philosophy is engineers are cash cows but once the field is eaten...get rid of the cow. Not a good model for engineer development. Good place to get in and get out.

    Advice to Management

Management is shameless at ENSCO. No conscious effort to develop young minds and provide real career paths. No excellence strategy, just a body shop mentality and HR and management ride on the engineers back. Management can either attempt to promote and sustain or should shamelessly get out of treating people like cattle.
