I worked at EOG full-time for more than 6 years

    Pros

Great benefits, generous vacation not a lot of red tape. Young career professionals will have the opportunity get a diverse experience

    Cons

Company has out-grown the ability to operate like a small company. Very little organizational career development structure. Lack structure in many areas including safety and environmental and engineering design. Lot's of family member selected as preferred hires

    Advice to Management

Truly utilize the performance review process to develop and engage your talent and not just a formality. Consider looking at other companies Sustainability Plans to identify the interest of your stakeholders

I have been working at EOG full-time for more than a year

    Pros

EOG is one of the largest independent crude oil and natural gas companies in the United States with proved reserves in the United States, Trinidad, the United Kingdom and China. Great benefits!

    Cons

Communication between upper management and employees.

    Advice to Management

    Open up communication with employees.

    I worked at EOG

    Pros

They have great benefits, such as 4+ weeks paid vacations, sick time, stock options, bonuses. They also have a great working atmosphere and great people to work with. Travel is 25%

    Cons

They tailor to much to the customers instead of what might be best for the company technical wise. You contract for a while. Some usually at least a year before you're even considered to be hired.

I have been working at EOG full-time for more than 4 years

      Pros

Great benefits and great pay for someone with little experience. Great managers willing to help you get to where you want. Can come up with ideas and see them come to life. Company is decentralized.

      Cons

No career development path. Hard to move around. There are a lot of people who have been at the company for 20+ years and are stuck in their old ways. Not willing to change.

I have been working at EOG full-time for more than 6 years

      Pros

Great benefits - 3 weeks vacation on the first day of work, personal days, 6 weeks of sick time, and flexible schedule

      Cons

Tends to hire outside more than promoting inside. Company seems to stress hiring friends and family instead of looking at the abilities of its current employees. If you get hired, make sure you are working in your preferred position.

      Advice to Management

Not everybody is happy working in their current positions. Don't automatically assume we are happy just because we have a job working for this company. This is a great company, one to retire from, but hire inside first. If there is no luck, then look outside.

I have been working at EOG full-time for more than 4 years

      Pros

Great benefits. Decentralized. Good salary. Most managers there are good managers and know what they are doing. Managers usually have been at the company for a while, not just someone off the street.

      Cons

A lot of employees have been here over 20 years and do absolutely nothing. A lot are lazy. A lot of the non degreed employees here are the lazy ones and complain everyday.

      Advice to Management

Get rid of the lazy employees!
