I have been working at EPFL as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

EPFL offers a great working environment for research. It is also one of the leading universities in computer science in Europe. As a postdoc you get a good salary and you are in contact with top scientists in their field.

    Cons

Short-term contracts are offered to scientists (max 6 years, usually up to 4). Most other details depend on who and what you work with.

I have been working at EPFL as a contractor (More than 5 years)

    Pros

EPFL's infrastrcture are excellent for a university.
University is growing and attracting more and more attention.
Salary for PhD students is very good, even considering the high cost of living.

    Cons

It basically all depends on the supervisor. No mentoring or serious support program for new students to integrate and manage conflicts they may have with their boss.

    Advice to Management

It can be astrength to focus on students well-being rather than try to do it the american way and squeeze everything out of them

I have been working at EPFL full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Flexibility, intellectual work, young environment, sports center is excellent

    Cons

Stressful academic ambitions all around you in the workplace may affect your well-being unless you know how to manage that well but this is true of any high-level academic environment.

    Advice to Management

Give more intellectual freedom to researchers and create more of a team environment to encourage researchers to work in a positive dynamic.

I have been working at EPFL full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

It is a very good university. Most of the researchers are not from Switzerland and this provides a multicultural institution.

    Cons

As getting research fund is easy in Switzerland, there is not much competition between researchers.

I worked at EPFL full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Top-notch University with many benefits, excellent salary, everything working like the swiss watches. Flexible working hours. relaxed environment. Opportunities to grow and travel, a lot of money to build a lab or research team

    Cons

No many opportunities to stay in the university after 2-3 years. There is a bad attitude from the senior management to hire people with a PhD from Universities in the US or former graduates of EPFL. This is a discrimination

    Advice to Management

Offer more opportunities to people independent of their race, colour, PhD, etc. Improve the communication between senior and young researchers. Improve teaching practices
