I have been working at EQT Corporation full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great pay and time off... 9/80 work schedule, generous vacation and sick time, 11 paid holidays, great bonus structure, and very nice long term incentive program.

    Cons

Uncertainty about company longevity after recent merger and announcement to split Production and Midstream into two companies. There are some departments that need to be split up because of the cliquish nature of the employees.

    Advice to Management

Be open to employees about future plans regarding the business.

    Pros

Every other Friday off. Some good people left for now.

    Cons

Constant change and waiting for the sale of the company. Don't expect competitive salary anymore due to layoffs and massive restructuring that has lasted years now 2+. The only people to benefit are the rich corporate board members where they are only concerned with stockholder value. Look at the background of the current CEO if you question this thought. If this is the future energy industry of America then I'm frightened. Note: EQT is Americas largest natural gas producer. Yes in Marcellus Shale. Literally everyone here is upset and it will eventually affect you as well. Also expect massive turnover in February when bonuses arrive.

    Advice to Management

Just fire yourself at this point

I have been working at EQT Corporation full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good experience, some good knowledgeable people, decent pay

    Cons

Listen to the old smiling faces song and remember it. Nobody laughs or jokes, very clicquish, lots of backstabbing, managers will lie to your face, ignorant childish people, employees afraid of their job or jealous of your experience will point out your mistakes to everyone and blame other people for theirs, ambitious and petty employees who are in love with themselves, team leads too lazy or scared to confront the nonsense and put a stop to it, people too scared to argue with the managers favorites. Doing a good job does not mean you will be hired, seen too many great people let go while they keep their favorite people. No security, if you get on somebody's radar watch out. Watch your back at all times. Management enjoys the power they have, makes them feel like god

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the bad team leads, make them give a performance review of contractors after 60 days, many should be hired but will never be because they are a threat to the current useless people at eqt. H R should have a say as to contractor hiring. Too easy to diss somebody and terminate contracts, then to have a proper review and get the story on the good and bad of the team and the team managers. I have seen so many excellent people work like crazy and do excellent work, not get hired because the leader or favorites felt slighted by something. Eq T needs good people you need to review the ones you have listen to the contractors and make changes get more involved, actually attend meetings and talk to the minions

Management is terrible, horrible culture, no raises, low bonus, old company behind the times.

    Advice to Management

Clean house and bring in good management with qualified people, not outdated people that don't want to change.

    Pros

Salary and benefits are extremely competitive.

    Cons

Instead of strategic iniatives, internal politics and who's friends with who influence high level decisions. Although the pay is great, it is because the hours are terrible. There is no work life balance.
