Get in Line or Get Out!

Jan 12, 2023 - Senior Community Manager in New York, NY

    Pros

I wish I had one note to offer about pros of working here, but alas I have not one.

    Cons

Worked here for under a month and was fired for calling someone I didn’t know the name of “dear” - like I cursed them out or went off the handle. I was asked to go for a walk by my supervisor and told this was my last day and not allowed back in the building. No onboarding, no training, no write up, no proper management. They are a bunch a former hospitality people who are an ineffective boy club who have no interest in fostering diverse employees. I’ve never felt so ostracized in my corporate work experience. They think everything is perfect, when in fact, it lacks any sense of accountability on the management side. They barely even know their staff that have been there for over a decade. I left my job to come here, and I feel like I wasted my time, thinking I had a great opportunity. Avoid at all costs.

Trying, but not quite there yet

Dec 20, 2022 - Chief Engineer in Boston, MA

    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

This company has broken into the facilities management/pharma field very recently. The leadership cares and genuinely tries to do what they say they are going to do. The culture is inclusive.

    Cons

The company has some awful policies that might work in their food-service roots, but it doesn't for professionals. 60-90 days with no benefits or paid time off, annual 401k match (so no compound interest) if they even decide to match, and if you make over a certain amount, they won't allow you to have a 401k, they make you essentially give a loan to the company while they keep the interest and then they will pay you back based on performance of the company. That works fine for CEOs, but most people don't have a large affect on stock prices. Investment options are sparse, and insurance benefits keep getting more expensive with a higher deductable for less coverage. They seem to not leverage Compass global's reach to negotiate a better deal for benefits. Seems silly. Effectively, they have found many creative ways to keep as much of YOUR money as they can, and the long term benefits don't seem to be marketable. They aren't close to competitive with union jobs/benefits in the general area. Admin wise there's a random form in a random place for everything. They decided to also make 10 different programs that do what ADP or Peoplesoft does within one. None of their 10 different programs work well or are user friendly. The time clock program especially should be jettisoned into space on a collison course with the nearest star or asteroid belt. We would settle for deleted with malice.

A people company that actually cares about their people!

    May 11, 2022 - Regional Director
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

ESFM is a fast growing facilities management company and always looking to promote from within and takes care of their people.

    Cons

Supporting systems for business aren't fully built out yet, it takes someone with initiative and follow through to be able to find answers and in some cases develop standards.
