    Pros

    A few good product lines. Nice colleagues.

    Cons

    Unrealistic goals (only a few make goals), revolving management (3 NSM in 3 years), plans to increase sales change often, heavily reliant upon phone and email contact with customers

    Advice to Management

    Get real with goals and offer better commissions, expand company awareness beyond a few states, find a path and stick to it for more than a year or two

    Small Company thinking does not grow business in all markets

    Advice to Management

    It takes time and $$ to get into some markets. It would pay off, if you stuck it out.

    Pros

    People were nice and helpful.

    Cons

    High turnover rate even in HR.

    Advice to Management

    Make sure HR people take care of former employees also because they do not. Major problem with COBRA, tax forms and notifying insurance of COBRA. RETURN CALLS.

    Pros

    The products and people at the company are great and I think that under the right leadership they can grow the business to what it once was.

    Cons

    The CEO that came in made too many bad decisions and really had no idea what he was doing. His vision for the company came from others that had no understanding of the industry or where the best fit was for the company. That CEO is no longer there and hopefully the company will get back on track.

    Advice to Management

    Don't put all your efforts in one area, keep pushing Math and literacy instead of the full focus being on STEM.

    I have been working at ETA hand2mind full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Improved culture with good mix of veteran and new, high-caliber talent. Plenty of room for growth. Great environment for self-starters and innovative thinkers. Flexible work schedules and ability to work from home is a plus. Onsite exercise equipment and indoor basketball and multi-purpose room is a good bonus. Serving the educational market is satisfying. Many former teachers on staff. Good plan in place to promote growth.

    Cons

    Company has been struggling the past few years, however, performance is trending up. Turnover of leadership team in past year has generated a lot of change, however, change was long overdue from what I hear.

    Advice to Management

    Continue developing and supporting the veterans while cultivating new talent. Keep increasing communication throughout the organization and keep working the plan.

    Pros

    The mission of the company, which is captured in its tagline ("Hands-on learning for growing minds"), is admirable. Most employees at hand2mind care deeply about helping teachers teach more effectively and helping children love to learn. And the proprietary hands-on materials that they sell genuinely increase engagement, save classroom time, and increase student mastery of challenging topics.

    Cons

    The company continues to shrink its workforce and shed quality employees at all levels. After years of neglect, the now-impatient owner wants an immediate change in the company's fortunes -- without training current employees in new ways of thinking or working. Opportunistic approach (low-return customization and near-constant development of one-off products/kits) continues to drag down the workforce. Many fewer people are expected to absorb the workload.

    Advice to Management

    Go ahead and merge hand2mind with its sister companies so that the owner can take full control of every aspect of work, and make hand2mind one of the many brands. Adopt an internet and inside-only sales approach. Stop wasting time and money trying to revive outdated intellectual property -- go ahead and retire the products that have been on life support and consuming your precious, dwindling resources.

    Pros

    The best reason to work here is to learn "How not to run a business"

    Cons

    Weak arrogant bosses that have been promoted to a level of incompetence.

    Advice to Management

    Prepare the company to be sold and let somebody who knows how to run a business take over to sell the product. The concept of the product is worthy.

    Good work life balance and benefits. The product sold is of good quality.

    Constantly changing pod peopke leave and leave employees in place that seem committed but are not

    Pros

    Some of the best coworkers around. Great product that actually has use for the end users.

    Cons

    High turnover of personnel, pushing 30% yearly, with what seems to be weekly dismissal of workers. Lack of actual leadership from the Executive Leadership Team (almost entire team had been recycled within the last 6 months)

    Advice to Management

    Actually lead by example and take a step back to truly understand and reevaluate the business.
