I worked at ETIC Engineering full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

I worked at ETIC for 9.5 years during my time at ETIC, I have enjoyed working with a tight knit team that was more than willingly to help each other accomplish a task. Management took time to mentor and guide me to help advance my career. With the new alignment in ownership, management has done a good job of emphasizing a culture of safety and work quality. I would highly recommend this company to anyone with interest in the environmental/compliance field.

    Cons

There were not really any cons I could list.

    Pros

Benefits for health and dental are normal
Vacation accrual starts immediately with no hold period
    Adequate safety supplies for work

    Cons

    High turnover in employees
Lot of terminations of senior management with CFO and Sr Operations terminated almost back to back
VP was terminated and then brought back...very strange to see
Steady attrition of experienced personnel leaving due to upper management ,all of these are causing very low morale

    Advice to Management

Inform the staff ahead before firing so many good people
Morale is very low due to the loss of the leadership that staff were working with daily

Using the marketing person to offer replies on Glassdoor is insulting to the present and former staff... it's not a Public Relations issue...

    Pros

Great co-workers and easy place to work. Most managers are knowledgeable and you can learn from. ETIC is a small company and has established administrative processes to move things along.

    Cons

Unfortunately, the company thinks CPR and 8-hour HAZWOPER refresher classes are training. There is no long-term growth for most staff. Overall company communication could be improved.

    Advice to Management

The past year has been trying on the company and you say you are going to make changes but nothing has happened. Hard to buy into the "new" culture when nothing has been improved.

I worked at ETIC Engineering (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great place to gain experience, amazing co-workers who are always helpful, office vibe is very relaxed. Projects and clients are enjoyable.

    Cons

It is sometimes hard to shut off work when you get home. This is the nature of the industry, cell phone travels with you and its up to the employee to handle accordingly.

    Advice to Management

The company is headed in the right direction and is under good wings.

I worked at ETIC Engineering full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Key client is a well know company and a few of the employees here are good at what they do
Company has been around for over 20 years so the paperwork and process seem like they work for s small firm

    Cons

Seems that management is misguided on what is needed to grow this company into a different path
All their eggs are tied to few Clients and management is not business savvy
Going backwards by bringing a former manager to VP position as this does not add any growth value
Going in circles again and no new growth obvious

    Advice to Management

Not sure if the management understands advise although they seem receptive... Just naive to think they can survive by feeding off old contracts forever

I have been working at ETIC Engineering full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There has been turnover of ownership and restructuring of management resulting in a paradigm shift in culture and attitude. Openness and communication are greatly improved. Staff training and career development are a priority that was lacking before.

    Cons

There is still residual upheaval from the turnover at the top as people fill new roles. Projects can be understaffed leading to long work hours.

    Advice to Management

need to get the word out on the change in ownership.

I worked at ETIC Engineering (More than a year)

    Pros

some managers were decent, average benefits, sufficient vehicle fleet although they are aging, flexibility to come and go, peer group can be helpful

    Cons

No growth outside of same client sector which is a problem in long term, going backwards by reinstatement of old management, stifling feedback because it is not received well especially if has to do with family members being hired, nepotism is not good management style

    Advice to Management

Try not to give overly rosy picture to staff, we all know what is really going on, bring new clients as the old work is not sufficient in long term, put the VP of Engineering as CEO as he has Client and staff respect

I have been working at ETIC Engineering full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good diversity of work and decent environment for self starters and those already seasoned in their career. Due to the company's small size decisions can are are rendered quickly without a lot of red tape.

    Cons

After the recent CEO was fired, the other "silent" partner assumed the reigns. Unfortunately, this person does not possess the skill sets of a leader or the polish of a CEO/president. The old CEO may have been a bit dictatorial but could hold the reigns- I'm not sure what the new CEO can hold- certainly not this company.

    Advice to Management

There is already a well respected leader in senior management that has been the functional face of the company for years. It would benefit the company for him to be given the reigns In order to continue to maintain the respect of large portfolio clients and portray the polish and leadership skills that a CEO/President possess.

I worked at ETIC Engineering full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I guess the people who work in the field and stay out of the office are decent enough. Benefits start immediate on employment and you don't wait 30 days unlike other places. They leave you alone most of the time unless you get on their radar. There is a company picnic or some kind of summer event and a holiday party.

    Cons

Layoffs are frequent and high turnover. The job growth is limited as they only have few clients and limited skill set. You are a field grunt most of the time so they keep you home when the work slows down. My old office in Costa Mesa may be closing as they lost their main client and only 1 or 2 people re working now, but not for long I heard. They don't tell employees whats going on until they chop off the staff or move them around like baggage. Company is shrinking fast and losing their staff and work very quickly this year. They will have to close their office in costa mesa soon.

    Advice to Management

Get out of low profit work and get hire new management. The work that is available is not challenging to retain staff. Treat employees with respect and not like disposable drones.

    Pros

Ok bunch of co workers and peers
Some new mid level managers are good
Plenty of admin people to take care of the small stuff

    Cons

Lot of backstabbers since they are on a witch hunt to get rid of staff
My work is reduced and not much except boring stuff to do.... No intellectual challenges here
I started putting my resume out
    Won't be here long
Hear that legal action is coming soon so don't want to be around when that hits the fan
They CEO got booted out and he was a tyrant but at least you know where you stood with him

    Advice to Management

Don't accuse employees of wrongdoing before you check
