I worked at EXCO Resources (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Benefits were good. Office space was very nice and well decorated.

    Cons

Too many in the fields. Money spent on unnecessary comfort items. Field employees are undervalued.

    Advice to Management

The roots (field employees) can only take so many hits before the top tumbles. Definitely look at trimming the top of the dead weight.

I worked at EXCO Resources full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

EXCO is a very active exploration/ exploitation company with pleanty of funding to support their activity.

    Cons

EXCO middle management is extremely weak. I often felt that I work on a desert island.

    Advice to Management

EXCO executive management would be served well by creating a communication system that would allow field level/lower management people to be heard. Your middle/upper management often display fear and refuse to convey information that is beneficial to your company up the ladder because it does not mirror you edicts.
